Thanks for posting, that was a good interview.

I'm hoping he goes to the Texans as well.

I'd love to have him in Houston.

He's a good kid. Hard worker. I've always had a ton of respect for Dak. Any idea where he'll get drafted? I haven't looked at the projections yet.

His mobility would be welcome in Houston, given that he'd probably be moving a lot. I think Dallas has their eye on him, as well. I'd definitely rather have a high-character kid like Dak over Johnny Rehab in Big D. The x-factor is Jones... and his startling stupidity.

No idea... the projections are all over the place, and I think most are grossly outdated. For example, some have Connor Cook (mich st) over Dak, and that makes no sense at all to me.

I think Dak's a 2nd-4th round pick, so the Texans can snag him in round 2, and help another position in round 1. The Texans definitely need a QB and probable RB though.

People I hope the Texans don't draft:
1. Christian Sackenburg (penn st pedos)
2. RG III (uTexas @ waco rape campus)
3. Johnny Rehab (of Aggie's steal/lie/cheat fame)

I am a Dallas hater, so would love for J-rehab to end up there.

Agreed. Texans are in desperate need of a field general. They've had a lot of misses at the QB position. Dak has the mobility and the frame. He'll get dinged for his height, but he has the mass to take some punishment. And he probably will in Houston, unfortunately.

Unlike Manziel, he's a throw-first QB. He has the wheels when necessary, but his first impulse is to pass -- not scamper. Many, many times he remained in the pocket to get a pass off as it collapsed. He has a good feel for the pocket and is less likely to put himself in harm's way than Manziel. Not even sure why we have to compare the two, but it seems like the Cowboys are. Which I find insane, but not entirely unexpected.

Of course, Dallas will never win another Super Bowl with Jones as the owner. But if the Texans get a few pieces of the puzzle, they'll be on much better ground. Not to mention the work-ethic of Dak, which is on an entirely different planet than Manziel. I'm not entirely sure Manziel even wants to play football anymore.

We had a dust-up here in Fort Worth recently with Manziel and the investigation is still ongoing. You'd never see that with Dak.

Other than Bill O'Brien/Rick Smith passing on drafting a QB and bringing in Hoyer, I like Bill. His ability to coach players and run plays to their skills. Kubiak had to mold the players to his system. I think Dak would do pretty good sitting a year with the Texans and learning.

Unfortunately RGIII might be the best available QB to pick up. I'd like maybe trying to get kaepernick for year and Dak watching him.

But the Texans will screw this up somehow.

I agree, aside from the QB boondoggle (misplaced faith in Ryan Mallet), I think O'Brien has done a pretty good job. He looks like he is still developing as an NFL head coach as well.

What do ya'll think the main Texans needs are this year:
QB, RB, OL, and a defensive back (since you can never have too many of those in the NFL) ?

Is Clowney tradeable?

Johnny is finished. Worse than Vince Young.

Main need is obviously a QB and RB. after that, safety and OL like you said. I think Kevin Johnson will be fine as a corner but Joseph is creeping up in age. But Safety is more improtant IMO than corner. OL depth is where we need the help. I guess at this point, best available any position will improve the team.

We need to also be thinking about Cushing's backup. McKinney improved after coming back so I expect him to be a real contributor this year.

I think this is Clowney's make or break season. I knew, he would be selected first b/c he's a Gamecock just like the owner.

Caught this little tidbit today.

Not sure of the validity of it, though. And unsure if Houston will re-position themselves before Draft Day. The comparison to Dalton is a little unsettling, given his lack of postseason production.

It would be really great for Dak and Mississippi State if he can be a long time answer for the city of Cleveland. You'd be looking at a lot of free PR. I think he has the attitude and work ethic to be successful, but it all remains to be seen.

Yeah, I don't see Connor Cook to the Texans.

Cook was not very good in the big 10. He is definitely not a 1st round pick imo.

iirc he was around 55% passing. And we all saw how awful he was against bama.

Man, taking Cook in the first would be really dumb.

One of the knocks against Dak by NFL scouts has been his lack of mobility, but I must've been watching a different Dak in college. I admit that he isn't as elusive as Manziel, but once he gets trucking, he's a beast to take down.

He can fight for those few extra yards -- I saw him do it time and time again over the course of his career. And really, you don't want another RG3 that's going to get blown up. Feel like Dak has the right blend of frame and power. RG3 is a glass QB. Can't take the punishment, but I feel like Dak would be able to withstand a lot. Even at the pro level.
