. The reason I direct that at you and not all of us is because numerous times you have bitched on here about how your weekend to Starkville was ruined because we lost a baseball series, and how you don't want to go if we're not going to win.

I don't expect to win a game now in baseball. Hell if it's LSU or Florida I Don't even expect us to be competitive. Hard to devote yourself to a weekend in Starkville ( rearranging work on-call schedules, son missing Select Baseball games, planning weeks in advance for hotel rooms) That was my point. If you are happy with the current state of our program then you should be blissfully happy right now.

That makes zero sense whatsoever.

Ditto. I mean if anything, us undertaking a $40Mil facility rebuild means that we will always have pressure to stay at the top. 1 bad season and you need to turn it around. 2 bad seasons and you're gone.

You've just gone overboard.

Last year wasn't great. And I think this is where the divide in our fan base is. It's all about expectations.

Yeah last year wasn't great, but we made it to a regional and were one year removed from playing in a national championship. The past 10 or 15 years the majority of the teams that won the national championship didn't even make the postseason the next year.

Please tell us what exactly your expectations are every year. I would love to hear this.

Ummmmm a regional appearance every year. Our regional every 2-3 years. I don't know maybe even a Super Regional in Starkville?

This is where the problem is for alot of people that arent big fans of Cohen. They daydream gleefully back to the 80's and 90's when we bought Regionals whether we deserved to host or not. The NCAA just cared about dollars for baseball. Now that you cant do that- we basically have to be a top 10 team to host a Regional. There are 16 Regionals each year- and the NCAA is spreading the wealth these days to grow the sport.

So the crux of it is- Cohen doesnt have the program as a perennial Top 10 program yet. So because we arent Top 10- Cohen sux

We finished Top 16, Top 32, 2nd, Top 32 the last 4 years before this year- which is our best run since the late 90's. But that still isnt good enough for some.

I don't think we should fire him by any means. But I also don't believe he will ever get us to being "a perennial top 10 program". This year was bad, we had enough talent to make a regional and he essentially lost the team, and lost them very early on at that.

That's my only gripe. I want us to have the absolute best coach in college baseball, which I completely understand isn't reasonable.

The MLB draft disagrees we had enough talent. 1st time since 1976 we haven't had a player drafted

That's a severe lack of talent in your top 2 classes
