Obviously you dont make a hire based on a recruit but will malik or his father have anything to do with the process or with what assistant coaches stay or leave ? I know we have almost no chance of landing him but any thoughts on that?

Absolutely not. Malik would only be here for two years tops. You can't make a program decision for 2 potentially successful seasons.

That's the smartest thing you've ever posted on this board.

I keep seeing this everywhere thought process everywhere. I hope Malik likes whoever we hire but we can't be going out to hire someone to solely to get Malik. That will not work out in the long run.

I dont think we land malik no matter who we hire. If Ray had a good chance at getting him, I dont think they would of fired ray in the first place.

What does Horatio do? Could we at least find an assistant job for him? That'd be fine by me.

Renardo Sidney was telling everyone that too. Don't think he is a Sidney by any means, but lets see how he does in the college game first.

Well then even more of a reason to not hire a coach just to get him.

From 247.

I'm hearing Howland will be the hire. But also a big piece of the puzzle is Korey McCray. He was an assistant at LSU but resigned this past Thursday. He has a really good relationship with Malik and was recruiting him for LSU. But the connection of dots for this entire picture is McCray was an assistant for Howland at UCLA, so hiring Howland and keeping G. Brooks as one assistant and bringing on McCray along with Malik would be huge

Great. We have to keep Brooks for a third group of coaches. Fack, that guy is lucky.
