Anyone else think this could be really it for Mullen at State?

Mullen looked like a beaten man vs Bama and then again last Saturday. I think maybe he's figuring winning a title is just about impossible as long as Saban is still around. If there was ever a year to jump ship it's this one considering the number of open jobs and Dak leaving.

In any case, Monken looks like a sexy hire if need be.

I either want Jeff Brohm (HC at WKU and Bobby Petrino womanizer 2.0) or Kendal Briles (OC at Baylor and white trash superstar).

Id say there is zero chance a program of higher prestige than MSU would want to pay him more than we do. He wont leave unless he gets an offer he can't refuse. And anyone would do the same thing. I'm an alum and If i were the head coach at state and got offered a 2-3 million dollar raise in the state of florida or georgia, I'd take off. But he is not getting that kind of money. He hasnt even competed in games vs Saban, and has gotten his arse beaten by Hugh Freese a couple of times. He's looking pretty unattractive even for state fans right now who have pretty modest expectations.

I want Rob Ryan. He's been at like half our games this year.

He can be the recruiting / party coordinator. Ed Orgeron for DC.

He wouldn't leave because he isn't getting paid enough, he'd leave because he feels like he has a better shot at titles elsewhere.

Whoever we hire needs to be able to battle Freeze on the recruiting trails

Mullen is battling Freeze just fine, it's that we have to pull better out of state recruits. We pretty much get the cream of the crop in state, save a few kids each year.

Rob Ryan can battle anyone anywhere. Plus he's basically made for Mississippi, overweight and look at that haircut.

Freese is going to nuke that program, trust me. His exit is going to be spectacular.

Ed O taught Freeze everything he knew. He would wrestle him and put him in a figure four leg lock in front of a 5 star OT.

Freeze won't get in any trouble with the NCAA. I bet the investigation just ends up with heavy sanctions on their women's basketball program.

Ole Miss is going to go down and look for Freese to take off. Very similar to the Houston Nutt exit from Arkansas. 1-3 years timeframe.

You should probably just plant cocaine on Freeze.

Be a real fan.

I'm just getting tired of it, TBH.

At this point, get in or get out.

Yea I agree with you DD. I've never been a Mullen fan. I think hes a pretty good coach and I'm happy about what hes done while hes been here, but personally I dont like him. Dont like his personality and demeanor, hes not a great fit.

That being said, I would never fire him or try to run him. He's done enough and unless he drops a couple duds like Croom and Sherrill started to do, he'll be around until he can't stand it anymore.

The new guy should bring Evan to in home visits and have him take care of the mom while the kid commits in the other room.

We get most of the top in state players. Your best recruiting is done out of state. Look at the last 4 years, don't be dense. Last year is a good example, we pulled 2 of the top 3. Every year you snag a Patterson or Ward but we end up with 7-8 of the top 12.
