So Julius Randle has 45 pts and 30 rebs after first 2 games. Dan Issel's first 2 games at UK: 33 points and 39 rebounds (as a sophomore).

Julius Randle just beasted that 1st half. Scoring, rebounding, passing - not fair. Played like NBA vet just inserted into a college game.

?@ESPNStatsInfo 5h
Julius Randle: 1st freshman with a 20 pt/10-rebound game in 1st 2 games since Michael Beasley in 2007-08 (Kansas State)

@KyleTucker_CJ 5h
Julius Randle first UK player with consecutive 20 and 10 games since Patterson in 2008.

UK's Julius Randle has a double-double...at halftime. I don't care who it's against. That is impressive.

Randle is averaging 22.5 points and 15.0 rebounds through two games. He's shooting 60 percent from the field and nearly 80 percent from the free-throw line.

He also has the highest scoring output of a player in his first 2 games at Kentucky under Calipari.

ETA: Kentucky just got some free recruiting publicity from Sportscenter after showing Randle's highlights from today. They cut into 2 different NBA games showing off John Wall and Anthony Davis in their Kentucky jerseys next to them in their NBA jerseys with #1 pick at the top.

Some of the moves he's made to the basket have been insane. Like Conley said on the broadcast, it'd be fun to do his shot chart just to see where he can fill it up from.

Yes, I agree, and he seems to have embraced his coming off the bench role, which is only good for UK in the long run.

I liked the way Cal described his role. He basically said don't be the guy trying to make plays, be the one who finishes plays.

That is basically what he did last year when he had success. He let the game come to him and didn't try to force things. I think down the stretch last season the pressure got to him and he started to over think things.

Yeah, I agree with this.

Yea, he was a beast.

Ya'll just ran into an experienced, talented team that jumped on the freshmen.

Nice comeback to make it a game.

Randle may be my favorite player of all time. He's emerging as a leader, too. I love watching him direct the action on the floor almost as much as his thunderous dunks. Can't wait for the Louisville game.

He is going to give Anthony Davis a run for his money as best freshman to ever play for UK.

I have not seen Wiggins play yet but I believe he will be in top two or three for POY. I have never seen any college player with his size move in the paint in traffic with the ball like he does and maintain complete control of the ball. He impresses me as the next Lebron or Durant in the NBA...

I meant that I have seen Randle and he is candidate for POY but I have not seen Wiggins yet to compare. Sorry for the assumption in my thoughts... Randle has appeared so far to be as good as any I have seen in college in my many yrs watching.

Well your comment described Randle. That's why I was confused. Wiggins is a stud no doubt, but as of now he's third behind Parker and Randle IMO.
