Blue hairs was 20 years ago
They have been replaced by corporate folks - who cheer less than blue hairs did - who have dulled the atmosphere. In Rupp they control the tickets but they do not buy early rounds of tournament so those go more to fans. This changes greatly for say the Final Four where the corporate folks are worse than the blue hairs any day.

Best atmosphere in Nashville or Atlanta, less when you go to flying distances over driving distances.

This team in particular seems real uptight playing at Rupp. Not a problem now though.

I think they feed off the crowd obviously. But part of that is Cal has backed the hell off a bit when they've gotten into tournament play.
