Not sure if it has legs or not, but there's something going on...

Matt Jones ?@kysportsradio 13m

Hearing bad news is coming from the UK football world. More very soon....

Matt Jones ?@kysportsradio 6m

Expect a number of suspensions and potentially some dismissals for UK football

The hub bub seems to be failed piss tests. Considering Kentucky has one of the more stringent drug testing policies in the SEC it wouldn't shock me either.

Also had this pop up:

@KySportsRadio: I am not releasing any names on these UK Football suspensions until I can confirm. I do know many floating out there now are wrong.

And Tony Neely's statement:

@jenheraldleader: UK spokesman Tony Neely said there's nothing to report on rumors of suspensions on football team.

So we shall see obviously.

I hope it isn't true. That the last thing that our team needs right now.

Agreed. At the same time with it being Stoops' first year and Joker having that "player's friend" reputation if that's what he's gotta do that's what he's gotta do.

It sucks either way.

FWIW, I haven't seen specific names mentioned but saw a post on another board that mentioned 2 offensive starters (one possibly a senior) and some key freshman defensive guys involved. Could see suspensions for the UGA game and possible dismissals mentioned (but no one has confirmed anything like that).

ETA: guy over on Rivals (Wildcat Lair) posted this...

quote:

Good friends with a guy on the team, says that he knows of Kemp, Sanders, and Hatcher getting in trouble for marijuana. Doesn't know the full extent or what penalties will be given though.

Read a list of the players allegedly involved also and one of them is really if true.

Supposedly everyone involved gets suspended for the year and some of them happen to be seniors.

Sanders names seems to be one coming up most consistently as the senior offensive player involved.

Really disappointing honestly. I'm sure we all have our opinions on legalization and such of pot (if that's the case here) but leave that shite for the off-season. Especially if you're supposed to be setting an example for the team.

ETA: Also don't think you'll get any announcements until gameday either.

Still sucks, but not nearly as bad as people were making it out to be.

Hatcher is the one that really bothers me.

Sanders is a turd. Good riddance.

Hope Kemp was nowhere near it.

Meh on Sanders, we have RB's. Hatcher is the one that hurts, but his is just one game, and perhaps that will straighten him out for the future.

Glad Stoops is maintaining control. Joker didn't and it showed.

This is correct and has been mentioned by Slive as wanting a standardized policy across the SEC. The stoner schools are the ones dragging their feet.

Just curious if there was an incident or just failed tests. I'll be checking the system to see if any of this has become a legal issue.

Please, not Jojo and Jason.

Legalize it and let 'em spark up.
