Thanks. I'm a senior at Murray State, and have lived in WKY most of my life. Grew up a Wildcat and A&M fan. They're my 1a/1b for football/basketball (split home).

I req'd access a while back and quit checking.

So Land Between the Lakes? Worth the drive from Lexington? Furthest I've ever driven into WKY is Owensboro specifically for Moonlite BBQ which was damn sure worth the drive from Lexington.

I go to LBL about once a week but it's nothing really special you couldn't find closer to home. The lakes are a good time in general.
If you do you should definitely eat at pattis.

Ive actually been planning to make a bbq trip pretty soon, I've never been and cheese said that just won't do.
I never go to Owensboro. If I head east it's usually to LEX.

Welcome. Are you from down there? I married a girl from Graves County, so I'm down your way a decent bit (I try to work in as many visits during duck season as possible).

Also, just my opinion: the bbq from a lot of places between the Mississippi River and about Princeton is better than anything in Owensboro. Give me Heaton's, Hutchen's, Knoth's, Stearns, and Harned's over both Moonlite and Old Hickory.

I grew up in Marshall Co. Lot of friends from graves though. Congrats on a WKY girl, Graves grows pretty good ones.
Never had heatons or knoths, where are they? Murray is a BBQ black hole.

Heaton's is in a marathon station in Princeton. It's damn good. They do it the right way, burning the wood down to coals before shoveling them into the bottom of a masonry pit.

Knoth's is on the lake, and only open like 8 months out of the year. Grand Rivers maybe?

I'm from Northern KY(well, kind of northern). I think you could classify the girls up here as...ummm...skanky.

I'll second Heaton's in Princeton. It's awesome.

I know a couple of girls from Marshall County. Judging by them they grow 'em plenty well there too.

Small World. I'm a Murray State alum, live in Union County and have a lake house at Green Turtle Bay which is 3 tenths of a mile from Patti's. Definitely agree about the Barbecue. Moonlight is okay, but I've been to several places around home I like much better.

Awesome. I graduate in December. Grand Rivers could actually use a good barbecue place.
