The problem is that the Kentucky posters we do have aren't being active outside of 3-4 of us. Hence the addition of posters. We've never had a lot of posters here and I've made attempts to contact guys like Wildcat Mike, Bho, and others to get them to check out what we're trying to do with no response. I think it's unfair to those who are actually requesting access and want to post here to drag our feet and wait for people to "decide" when they haven't posted here in months at this point.

And I'm guessing your comment about me being the only one supporting mograyback, is in fact your "No" to adding him correct? CatFan has essentially given free pass to add folks as long as they're not trolls, so that technically makes two of us that agree to add him (and no one is actuallly objecting unless you are).

I don't see it as a "problem" when it generates discussion on a Kentucky based board. And frankly, unless others object to us adding posters to this board I think we should continue to do so. We've had more traffic on this board in a week then we've had in months because of these additions and I don't see how that could possibly be a negative. We're still discussing Kentucky sports.

Meh. I'm fine with mograyback.

As I've stated before though, I'm open to adding any poster that wants to contribute to actual discussion about Kentucky athletics.

As long as a poster isn't a troll, I have no problem with adding them. After all, there are very few Kentucky fans on this board. There certainly aren't enough of us to sustain an entire board without contributions from outsiders.

Agree completely. As long as they agree to keep topics UK centric and realize they're posting on a UK team board (so flaming of UK coaches/players/fans aren't tolerated) then I don't see the issue at all.

It is neither a no or a yes at this point. As stated before I just don't want this to be you, me, and CatFan putting everybody in. What I am really trying to do is to get others involved that already have access to this board and are UK folks to be more vocal. I am putting up a post on current UK board stats and I really would like to get more input from some of these folks.

You could argue the flip side in adding people when regular posters who are taking the summer off are left behind. Bho, Mike, and Kige have been both active posters on here and thread starters. Telling folks not part of UK to wait until actual UK folks get active again does not seem unreasonable. Will it kill folks to wait a few weeks before requesting until some of these folks are heard from again? I have serious doubts if folks like Bho and Mike have given up this board forever.

Wildcat Mike has actually posted recently on MSB and the SECr but didn't come here (even though I told him in a MSB recently that we were wanting his feeback on some things on this board).

I'll message Bho again and ask for him to provide some input and see if he can get Mike in here. I'm not going to beg and plead people to post here though if they have other things going on.

Sorry guys for being AWOL. My job has been kind of crazy the last couple of months. I had to get a new phone, so I don't have Mike's number, but he should be back soon unless he's banned. There are Pros and Cons to adding non UK fans. Is this going to be a poster x wants in should we allow it or everyone is in? If everyone is in then one of us needs to have MOD powers to limit trolling. I'm fine either way but can someone bring me up to speed on the parameters for the non UK fans to post here?

It's not "everyone is allowed in". It's basically us deciding who to let in and who to not let in.

As I've stated before, I'm fine with letting anyone in who is interested in actually discussing Kentucky sports without trolling.

So I skimmed through this thread and see there are other fans posting here, which is fine IMO. However, if there is trolls it will only create less action from actual UK fans on here. I think we should vote people in if they want to be here. I don't necessarily need to have direct input in whether they get permission or not. I think you guys know most of them more than I do. I've basically just been on the soccer board during the offseason. I rarely even look at the other boards.

What are your thoughts on the US men's team since you reference the soccer board?

I am pumped at how we play now.

Do you think the non UK fans should outnumber the actual UK fans on a UK board?

With the rapid rise in the past week we are right about 1:1 non UK posters to relatively active UK posters. If we keep adding more non UK folks while not adding more actual UK folks is it still a UK board?

If we're talking exclusively about UK topics then why wouldn't it be?

Are you still a "UK fan" if you claim to be a fan of every SEC team?

I'm fine with adding more members as long as the topics are UK related and not trolling as already has been mentioned.
I asked for access to the UT board last year when my wife and her sister wanted to take their dad to the UK/UT game in Knoxville.
I asked questions about getting in the stadium, parking, food, etc. Answers I would not have gotten other than their board, so as long as other SEC posters keep it on UK related threads, I'm pretty much good with anybody.

Except that one crazy UL fan who posts his jealousy on the rant.... don't want him on here..

I don't see this being a problem as long as it's not a troll fest. This is an LSU site.

They are playing well right now for sure. Come over to the soccer board and discuss it. Lots of guys that know way more than me.

If you have an email we can discuss it off line and you can tell me.

I don't have any probs with adding some non-uk posters to our board. I vouch for BamaFanNky. He is a Bama fan that actually lives in Kentucky and he is cool. I'm active during football and basketball season, but devote a lot of my free time to family in the summer so, we may need a few non-uk posters to keep the board active year round. I am not as familiar with some of the posters on the rant though, but I will back Belle and Catfan's choices of who to let in.

I was just making a point.

FWIW, if there is concern about trolls Chicken has added me as this board's admin so that we can get a handle on it pretty quickly.
