Vols had some massive defections and UK lost Maya to the Cards (her sister played on the Penn State team) but I have a feeling UK has a good shot at the brass ring this fall. Tickets are on sale now so lets get some support out there for the games.

UK volleyball will be on the radio with live call for all home games on 1580 AM. IMG (Dick Gabriel?) will team up with Mandy Robbe (UK director of Volleyball Operations) to call the games. Tune in if you can not attend the games.

I'm looking forward to going to the match on Sunday. You'll more than likely win, but I enjoy going to volleyball games anyway. It's one of my favorite non-football/basketball sports to go to.

Right now only the Gators and Cats are ranked and TAMU is the only other SEC getting votes. Vols had some issues in the off season so nobody is really looking too deep in the SEC.

Tide is 12-2 so far but it is a bit hard to tell how good they really are because they are not playing a real tough schedule. They have the Cats, then the Tigers, and then the Gators right off the bat so we should know pretty good just how they are against tough competition early.

It's really hard for me to gauge how good other teams are because I never see anyone other than Alabama, so idk how good we actually are. Our losses are to Washington State and Houston Baptist. The HBU loss doesn't sound great at all. And it wasn't even close, it was 3-0. Idk how good our wins are either.

I think we'll be a middle of the pack team. I don't think we're terrible, but we're certainly not great

Daughter played volleyball in high school so actually enjoy watching as well. Unfortunately, never followed it closely at the college level though. I could see myself catching some matches on TV every now and then. I think Mizzou is undefeated so far, though I don't know who they play.

On another note, I saw the UK v. MU women's basketball game will be televised.

Have several ties to SEC and B1G volleyball programs because of friends kids who played or coached there. Have a current family member who is already looking at SEC schools to play on, so I follow UK, UF, and TAMU teams a bit more closely than the others. Vols had a good program but seems to have self destructed for now so not following them like I used to.

Tigers are undefeated right now but like Alabama they have not really played anybody to tell how good they are. They open at home tomorrow against the Cocks so still will not have an idea. Vols @ Knoxville should have been the first challenge game but now it looks like the Gators @ Tigers about a month from now may be the big test.

I saw where Mizzou put in new sand volleyball courts but was unsure if they were looking forward to NCAA sanctioned sand volleyball or just for general students. Do you know?

It is good to watch it on TV but it would be nice to get folks to live games. I know I harp on attendance a lot but with the new SEC network coming online in 2014 it means more games will be televised and empty venues look terrible on TV. If the alumni are not going to go then getting the current students and families with kids to show up will really help long term. I studied the ISU women's basketball program and talked to some of their folks and it appears their administration understood grassroots fan growth.

Where this really helps is keeping the SEC brand ahead of others on secondary sports but the big bonus is getting the NCAA attention when it comes to hosting events in the post season. If the SEC is hosting the sites it allows SEC schools to get good national exposure. The softball regional was getting all kinds of love from the broadcasters which helps recruiting for the conference as a whole in the future.

As for the Tigers this fall I think Eye is a senior this year and she should force teams to come out and defend her. Will be interested in how Holmes does this year at Mizzou. With so many local girls on the team just not sure how to view them because I do not follow high school basketball in MO. Tigers picking up the kid from Ontario cracked me up tho because it seems all the SEC schools have recruited a kid from Ontario.

The biggest thing for the Mizzou women will be to slowly upgrade their pre conference schedule. Traveling to Miami for their tourney will possibly get them some media attention but adding a decent B1G or A10 / Big East home and home series would get the Tigers some national attention. SEC football dominates the other conferences but SEC women's basketball may be the deepest in the country. With Pat gone I can easily see a "the six" or "the eight" emerging in SEC basketball scene in the women's game.

St Louis hosted the 2009 ? NCAA Final Four and the place was full of Vol fans and some scattered other SEC schools, but did not see 1 person the whole tournament in Mizzou gear. Would love to see this change if the NCAA comes back to Saint Louis.
