This thread ontRant is troubling to me - LINK /

Problem I have, is it is this guy's 1st and only post

I know that in the guidelines this kind of thing is discouraged, but it just looks like it could be an alter or sock puppet "outing" some else's email

Not saying that a new rule should be made, or that folks should not be able to share an email (most edit the post afterwards and us a throwaway account); but for a 1st post, it looks pretty suspicious

Actually, maybe I am asking for a new rule

If a new member joins and shares an email address, I think it should be treated as spam

face palm all you want; makes you look stupid here

another reason to treat brand new users that throw out links and emails as spammers and the emails as spam is that it is likely a "phishing expedition"

it's suspicious when a brand new person comes in with an email addy; I also wouldn't (and don't) click links from people that are new or that I don't know/respect/trust

Well, at least I do try and describe what you are clicking instead of a link name that means nothing.
