So, did any of you watch the Swamp Kings documentary on Netflix?

The one thing that stood out was the way he said he felt after kicking Avery Atkins off the team in '06 and later finding out that he OD'd in '07. he made the comment it really affected him mentally and he questioned whether he did the right thing by taking football away from someone.
at the time, he basically hit a woman. his girlfriend or someone. well, there was a team rule that you don't hit women. well, he got kicked off the team for it.
if his death really affected him, i find it hard to believe that he would let Cam Newton go for a simple laptop. blows my mind.
oh, and i completely forgot about Avery Atkins. sad story.

I have watched it twice.
Summary of my thoughts:
1) Urban Meyer had a mental problem that made him physically ill when he lost a game.
2) He put winning above all else, partly due to number 1.
3) Tim Tebow was the only reason he lasted 5 years at UF
4) His return after originally resigning set the program back probably 4 years.

Watched it and will probably watch it again.
1. I'm glad they didn't drag us through the mud with all the off-field issues and the things that came out in later years.
2. It was fun to look back at the success we had. Wish I had appreciated those years and winning more.
3. Always interesting to see the players' perspective. Learned some things about some guys and their stories that I hadn't heard before.

It was decently entertaining. Clearly a piece that Meyer was behind to help his PR image and not much else. Didn’t cover anything in depth and left a lot to be desired but was overall decent

They made it sound like he was in serious jeopardy of getting fired after the 9-3 2005 season. That’s a load of horseshite. People were actually impressed that he adapted and added a fullback into the spread to help the running game.

I took it as Meyer was worried about being fired. Part of his mental problem with losing.
