"Embarrassing,” junior safety Marcus Maye said of the 29-point home loss. “Just because you know that's not what we want to put on film. That's not how we expect to play. You know the fans aren't used to things going that way, just stuff like that. It was just a down for everybody. For the whole team. Just embarrassing for that game last year."

"No doubt,” Maye said. “Because every Saturday you have to come ready to play. Coach always says you can't just roll your hat out there and just go out there and win. You have to prepare like always, practice hard like always and Saturday will come.

“That was last year. This is a new year. A new team. So we're just going to watch the film and just go out there like it's a new year."

Senior cornerback Brian Poole said it was easily the low point of the season and the worst post-game locker room he's been in.

“Definitely, the low point,” he said. “It was pretty bad. They embarrassed us. We don't like that. That's probably the worst I've ever felt (in the locker room after a game). There wasn't a whole lot to be said. They came out and dominated us from start to finish.”

quote:

“That was homecoming, we came in and just let that team take everything from us,” junior defensive end Alex McCalister said. “It's definitely a big game (this Saturday). It was a big game on my calendar, going to Missouri and really taking it back from them.”

quote:

“It was bad,” he said. “It was quiet. You could sense guys kind of losing hope, giving up. That's kind of expected in a sense, losing at homecoming, 40-something."

Last year's outcome will provide motivation throughout the week for the Gators, Neal said.

"Of course,” he said.

Neal was then informed that Saturday is homecoming for the Tigers.

“Oh, that's nice,” he said. “Looking forward to that.”

I don't think we have to worry about the players looking ahead to LSU.

After thinking about it more during the week, I stopped being worried about them "looking past Mizzou."

It's hard to look past a team that embarrassed you on national television the year before, at home, during homecoming.

Half the team hasn't ever beaten Missouri, so given that, I expect that UF will be out for Blood.

I really don't think Coach Mac will consider the next game until this one is over. He actually seems better than competent and we didn't even have competent with that UG dickhead from the last four years.

I do find it funny that there are two basic tenets of Mizzou football.

1) Woe is me. No one respects us. Everyone will overlook us on our schedule.
2) Recruiting rankings don't matter. Except for, they actually do if you look at all the BCS era champions.

The press conferences are night and day. Mac seems like he knows what he's doing, I never got that feeling from muschamp. Muschamp always just seemed to be winging it.

I don't know anything about this. >_> <_<

Really though, the big difference between Mac and Mus is that Mac consistently has the ability to manage a game, period.

We've come to every game and did what it needed to win, and the last game finally gave our offense confidence. Watching Mizzou on tape is very, very heartening. They are not the same team as they were last year or the year before. Definitely in a rebuilding year.

I'm just encouraged by seeing those types of words spoken by our defense.
