At the beginning of the season, I predicted 9-3, with losses on the road to UT, Arkansas, and FSU.

I made this prediction because I felt that UF's young offense would struggle on the road, especially against an experienced team like UT, I felt Arkansas was a trap game after UGA, when UF doesn't traditionally play well, and I just felt that FSU had more talent.

Well, fast forward to now: A more experienced UT team pulverized a soft Florida team in Knoxville in the 2nd half, UF had the biggest let down of the season in Arkansas, and FSU just showed how far ahead of Florida they are in terms of talent just last night.

I was wrong about two things:
1. I thought UT would go 10-2 and win the SEC east, I never predicted they would lost to Vandy and USCe
2. I thought UF would show improvement on offense throughout the season. I was dead wrong about that. They have actually regressed as the season has gone along.

I believe that a UF coach has 4 basic goals each year, and if they fail to meet at least 3 of these every year, they are going to be fired quickly.

The goals are:
1. Win the SEC east
2. Recruit a top 10 recruiting class
3. Beat UF's main rivals (UGA, UT, and FSU)
4. Go to, and win, a decent bowl game

Let's recap JM the past two years:
1. Win the SEC east - has won it 2 out of 2 times, (A+)
2. Recruit a top 10 recruiting class - not yet, but his evaluations are clearly solid so far except for at QB, (C)
3. Beat UF's main rivals (UGA, UT, and FSU) - 1-1 vs UT, 2-0 vs UGA, 0-2 vs FSU, (C-), he is lucky he isn't 2-4
4. Lost Citrus bowl in embarrassing fashion to Michigan, 2016 TBD - (F/I)

He is not meeting the basic expectations of the UF fan base at this time, other than winning the SEC east, which is not particularly note worthy because of how shitty the SEC east has been the past few years.

I still think he deserves 4 years in total, to see if he is the guy. But UF is staring another Alabama massacre and 8-4 in the face, and UF's only hope at positive momentum heading in to 2017 is an outback or citrus bowl win over a big 10 team. If UF doesn't get that win, they will be 8-5, and staring at another long, depressing off season, with very little hope for next year following another late season 3-game losing streak. I also think if this happens that it will probably lead to another finish outside of the top 10 in recruiting.

If those things happens, I predict that his tenure here will not survive past year 3, FAIR OR NOT, unless he finds a QB heading in to 2017. His entire tenure pretty much hinges on Trask, Franks, or a miracle QB transfer.

That guy has been saying the same thing me and TJ have been saying since the Tennessee game. I don't see how this is breaking news to some of you. But alas, we won the east 2 years in a row....

Umass was a bit early to make assumptions. We have a full season to review now.
