I'd say more about a 7.5. It's not a huge "name" hire, but the proof is in the pudding. Dude took an atrocious team and improved them every season, going 10-2 this year. Considering where they were just 3 years ago that's outstanding.

If our defense can continue to be somewhat comparable to what it has been (I assume we can expect a slight dropoff due to losing wm), but our offense improves greatly (which there's no reason to suspect it won't) we'll be right back in the east race again quickly.

Our defense was pretty solid even before Muschamp. We've never had a problem on that side of the ball contemporaneously. If Muschamp inherited anything, it was an amazing defense.

Really, the defense runs itself at Florida right now -- and with as much depth as we have in the secondary we'll be just fine.

He had Trent Richardson, a heisman winner and Eddie Lacey at Bama to work with.

Maybe he's good with recruiting RBs too.

Good hire Gators, you're getting a hell of a coach and he's great developing QB's.

not that familiar with him, certainly this is not a "big splash" hire for the Gatahs, but none the less, it may work for them.

The fact that he managed to eclipse Colorado's flagship state U certainly seems like a good indicator.

This guy is a 2. Not a splash hire at all. He's had 1 good year at a shitty school in a bad conference. The gators are back in the 80s and this hire may regress us even further. Seriously would've preferred Musty was given another year with the same offensive staff to hiring another saban protege who will lose to richt, fisher, and saban every year.

I've been nothing but a Foley fan for a long time but seriously I'm canceling my recurring donations to the UAA and have zero intention of sending another dollar till he's fired. This hire makes me think he is a moron who just got lucky once.

Good. You act like UF will give a shite about your donation. There are plenty of others out there who will pick up your slack.

Is that why season ticket sales are abnormally low and fan attendance has been so abysmal? This hire will do nothing to fix our problems and is a step solidly in the wrong direction. Have fun paying for terrible product.

I'm not gonna argue with you about it. You said your piece, and as I stated, there will be plenty of people ready to pick up your slack. It's no big deal.

you should be giving your money to people who need it, like starving children, etc. i love uf, it has enough money.

giving muschamp a pass on 2013 was a mistake, better not to make it worse by giving him a pass on 2014.

foley isnt into hiring big names. ron zook, meyer, muschamp. i guess its hit and miss, but after the 2013 season you have to go in another direction. all 2014 did was prolong it. sloppy play on a consistent basis at year 4 is unacceptable. thats a coaching problem.

losing to georgia southern is unforgivable and im glad champ is gone. champ lost to a 1aa team and broke the schools bowl/winning season streak. good luck champ, your a good guy, but im glad your gone, albeit a year late.
