I have never seen such an entitled fan base. Wanting us to give up millions in revenue, our biggest recruiting weekend and play in a half empty stadium like SCAR did just so they can see LSU play. How about they enjoy the extra week of rest?

It's insane. They have lost it. I wonder when they will reschedule it? Or if LSU will even do it? Or Florida for that matter. Not playing it does help Florida and hurt LSU.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

But for now...

I hope they're at the top of the SECW when we play this year. It will make the win that much sweeter

I'm curious how that will effect the standings if it's entirely canceled. Assume we win out and Tennessee gets 2 losses... they finished 6-2 and we finish 6-1.... How does the SEC deal with that?

It's really unfair to the rest of the conference, so I imagine that somewhere, somehow, this game will be played.

Well now with the current situation there will be zero revenue and no recruits.

Since this isn't tRant, let's have an actual discussion on this. When do you see this game being played?

Honestly, I have no idea what powers the SEC has in this regard. The easiest thing to do, IMO, would be to move the SECCG one week later. There is a lot of advance notice right now, it's not like we know who will be in it, so tickets haven't been sold en masse, that's what I'd do as the SEC if I had the power.

I doubt LSU wants to give up a home game to play on 11/19. That is a lot of revenue to surrender.

UF probably doesn't like losing a home game either.

Moving the Fla-UGA game is so tough, because that stadium is used for other things. Also - most people have already booked all of their travel and most of the tickets have been sold.

So, yeah, I think the only thing that is possible is that the game is played the week before the SECCG or not at all - which is unfair for everyone not named Florida, but is the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

You can't move the SECCG game back though unless the playoff committee agrees to that (which they probably wouldn't considering they decide the games when they do so teams have enough time to prepare for the travel and all).

That's probably accurate - but I just don't see where else they can play it unless LSU agrees to give up a home game - and considering that is millions in revenue, I doubt they do that.

Yep, the only way I see this game getting played is if UF plays in BR for three straight years.

And I seriously seriously doubt that will happen.

Unless the SEC makes UF do it.

Why is this unfair for everyone but UF? Seems like it would hurt UF most if it can't be rescheduled, at least monetarily? Also, if we got another win out of it???

The only way to reschedule it is to move the Presbyterian game or dont play them and LSU reschedules something, thats hard to do for both teams.

LSU fans will be saying Florida wanted to have game cancelled all along which is insane...the SEC has made the decision with input from ESPN who really runs the show.

Florida played the Univ of New Jawsey@ Coral Gables the day after John F. Kennedy was murdered which was a TOTAL SHOCK to the country for those of you born after 1948...I was sixteen and everyone was crying and in total disbelief.

If the game is cancelled it sucks...both schools have a lot at stake.

I don't understand why LSU fans are so upset? Fournette wasn't going to play, and now he gets an extra week of R&R before their next game.

They had to cancel it.

Sucky situation. I'm fine with how it played out since I'm skeptical of this storm's impact on Gainesville. But if LSU fans want to complain, that's fine.

All I know is I would take our AD and our state's disaster preparedness organization over theirs. And in the end, football is just football. It will sort itself out in the end.

ETA: It's actually funny to see how fans of every other team except UT and UGA have been reacting to this. Everyone's amazed at the LSU melt.

I think Nov. 19 is the only realistic shot, and basically, It's the SEC's call. Pretty much the whole situation was.
