Left knee, supposedly couldn't put any pressure on it.

Great. Just great... All we need is a catastrophic injury a month before the season even begins.

He injured his knee trying to break up a brawl.

I know how he was injured, I was just noting how no one brought it up.

Were just snakebite when it comes to injuries. The most absolute freak fricking accidents. Wouldn't surprise me if one of our receivers gets injured celebrating a TD this year.

Here is an update from Thomas Goldkamp @247

quote:

Talked to a couple sources about what happened tonight, and here's what I've got.

I mentioned Duke Dawson came up after one rep kind of swinging at someone, that was posted in the thread before I realized the drill would lead to anything else. Both the offense and defense were hooting and hollering a good bit after a couple reps. It started to get more heated after Keanu Neal blasted a walk-on and lingered over him to say a few words.

The walk-on was pretty scrappy and got up and said let's do it again, so they went and did the drill again, and the walk-on got the better of Neal. That led to the whole offense going nuts, which I think I also posted about in the thread. A few reps later, Quincy Wilson went against Raph Andrades and upended him, slamming him into the turf. That's when things really uncoiled and everyone from both sides lunged at each other and it turned into the big 25- to 30-person circle.

Hargreaves, I'm told, was trying to break it up, along with a handful of other players. None of the sources I talked to had a real clear grasp on what happened in the circle or how he was hurt.

Then, after the practice Muschamp lit into the team, telling them that anyone who swings at another player in practice again will be suspended. That's how it works in a game, so that's how it's going to work in practice from now on. Obviously he lit into the defense pretty good and made them run gassers afterward. He was not happy about the situation, to say the least.

Still working on trying to get some info on the extent of Hargreaves' injury.

Huge sigh in Gainesville: @CoachWMuschamp: “An MRI revealed that Vernon Hargreaves suffered a bone bruise and he is listed as day to day.

Man, it's hard for me to like this dude.

Thank God he stopped it after the incident.

The frick was he doing while it was getting heated?

Thankfully nothing bad happened. Hargreaves would be a terrible loss even for one game.

Hope he lays into the coaches, too, man. This is the kind of shite I was getting tired of seeing.

It's bad enough when we're fighting other teams, inexcusable when our own players are fighting each other and it should have probably been an automatic suspension. I get it that young dudes fight, but this is really bad.

I wouldn't wish that fate on my worst rival. Glad to hear it's just a bruise! I had something similar last football season and you feel like you tore your knee to absolute shite. He should feel good in less than a week!

This is the EXACT reason Fall practice should be closed. In fact, I wish WM would come out tomorrow and close it all down. It wasn't a fricking brawl, like many idiots in the media described it as. There were 2 incidents, then JC Jackson and Latroy Pittman got into it. Vernon was one of the guys trying to break it up, then a bunch of the guys went over to break it up. Wasn't a huge team brawl like the media made it out to be.

These things happen in every training camp. These are 18-22 yr old kids with hot heads. It happens all the time in NFL camps as well. For football, it is normal. UF just has shitty media that want to make anything a story after last year.
