Has a coach ever lost the team only to regain it?

I can't recall a time a team quit but came back stronger with the same coach.

After what we saw on the field tonight I dont think the HC can win the players back. Literally no bright spots to build upon.
Our DL is soft AF, other than Dexter we have nothing inside.
We have edge rushers playing LB, soft inside
And how do you let a WR just walk into the EZ with noone within 20 yards of him for a td.

OL is weak, we cant push anyone off the ball.
Pierce is the only RB who came to play tonight.
No idea what was up with the WRs tonight
EJ had his good n bad moments. The fumble was huge.

I predicted this based off his years at MSU and what happened at the tail end of last year.

Kyle Trask's success is going to be his high water mark at UF. Distracted and only half interested after there is really nothing left to win is his norm.

I'm not "done" with UF football, but I have exactly zero confidence that CDM is ever going to take a team to the playoffs. I guess what that means for me is I'll watch them play on TV, but I'm not going to spend money trying to get to some games in Gainesville or when they're on the road this why. What's the point spending time and money to go watch what may be a half-assed effort, depending on the coaches mood that week.

One place I was apparently wrong was saying that his ceiling was Mark Richt and his floor was Ron Zook. I'm starting to believe his floor may be closer to the last two guys. If we finish the season 5-7, I won't be surprised.

If our AD determines that Mullen has lost the team, the decision is really made for him.
