Holy shite, 7th generation?? And I thought me being 5th generation Floridian was impressive......

Do you know around what date & where your people first arrived? Ever read the book "A Land Remembered"? Cause you should if you haven't

I want to say they came to Florida in late 1810's/early 1820's. 5th generation is pretty damn impressive too, I think it would be a pretty small club of multi-generational Floridians.

I haven't read that book, but will look into it.

Born and raised in Belle Glade living in Dallas since 1999. Been a Gator fan since I was a kid and attended games back when Doug Dickey was coaching. Walked on for a year and got killed every day in '82. Figured 19 was a good age to retire, LOL. Kelvin Taylor has my old number at my old high school. He wears it slightly better than I did.

Born and raised in Florida.

I actually have my grandpa to thank for making me Gator fan. I remember attending games when I was kid telling myself I'd attend UF one day. And here I am. Currently a Freshman here.

And if anybody couldn't tell by my Angelica icon, I am a female.

Pretty new the Gator Nation. I grew up in Mississippi, but had no real family ties to Ole Miss or MSU. Earned my BS at MTSU and my MA at Texas State. UF has one of the most respected schools in my field and they offered a pretty awesome fellowship, so I headed down here.

I've loved football all my life and probably loved watching SEC games more than any other league or level, so I was excited to come to a school with a great history and program.

The people I work with, faculty and students alike, have all been fantastic to be around. The academic end of the university is pretty fantastic at the end of the day, all things being equal. Loving football already, and realizing the university really is a special place, it wasn't hard to become a die hard Gator.

Grew up in FWB, FL

Accepted at UF, but could not attend due to family issues which prevented me from moving too far. I know...poseur

Still spent many summers with buddies down at Bicycle Club apartments lighting dumpsters on fire.

Had to setting for attending University of South Alabama since it was closer.

Still live in that area.

Born in Hawaii, raised in Louisiana. Even attended LSU for a few.

Started following UF when Charlie Pell was hired. I wasn't a fan 'cause I liked LSU more, but just liked the Coach Pell.
Became a fan after UF was stripped of the 1984 SEC championship (Weird, huh?). Left LSU and joined the Navy, stayed in until I got tired of all the bs and moved to Gainesville in 1997. I've been here ever since.
I've been thinking about going back to school to finish my degree at UF, but I may want to major in another subject. Stay tuned...

Ok, wow. I realize you and Matt are old, but this is the Internet...no need to take it so serious. I am not actually Tommy Pickles, and I was Not attempting to have sexual intercourse with my cousin Angelica, or any other random internet poster person.

Sense of humor mother truckers....get one

No, I was joking. I do feel like sometimes I am an ambassador for UFs deep south roots though.

I do get called out for having an accent here, after which I usually point out that we are in the south. However, the majority of students I have seem to be from Tampa, Orlando, or from Boca down 95 to Miami. There aren't enough students from north central Florida and the panhandle for me not to stick out.

I was working a study abroad this summer in southern Europe, and one of the girls from Miami made sure to point out that the only person on our trip who had an accent was me and our Welsh program coordinator.
