Florida to get $60 million Football Facility

More huge upgrades to the football program coming down the line. Their new facility is expected to be finished by 2019, however I've heard from certain people that the facility will be done by late 2018. This will help recruiting, coaches, and the current players, and increase the value of the program as a whole. I'm proud of Coach Mac for demanding another great facility on top of what he's already gotten in the IPF and the administration for letting the program out of its shackles so it can start running like a top notch, elite program again.
This is a great thing for Gator football, and the $40 million upgrades to the baseball and softball stadiums will be a great upgrade to the entire Gator athletic department.

Coach Mac learned from Saban what it takes to build a program

That's exactly why I am behind Coach Mac. He knows how far behind the eight ball UF was as an overall program when he took the job. You gotta be able to win off the field before you can win on it. Hopefully Strickland can pump some higher salaries into the assistant and support staff. Thats why the recruiting is falling off IMO.

Great, now I can't wait to see these facilities start winning us some more championships.

Can you be excited about anything?
Good grief
Your "fav team" is upgrading facilities and you scoff at it like its not going to help in recruiting ect
You know, the main thing you bitch about???

Sweet what kind of facility? Dorms? UF needs dorms. Better locker room?

A stand alone facility that includes new locker rooms, new strength and workout facilities, new recruiting rooms, coaches offices, rehabilitation rooms, alumni locker room, game room, athlete dining hall.
Very nice and well needed

Standalone Football center = Locker rooms (Team and Old Boys), weight rooms, meeting rooms, and sometype of all sports dining hall. Next to the IPF and practice fields.
Not sure when the dorms are getting done but plans have been sent out to recruits.

That is awesome.
I thought the dorms still needed work though.
Still, anything in that direction is good to me.

according to you guys, stars don't matter. so why should it matter what kind of recruits we get? Mac is the end all/be all that this team needs right now.
in my opinion, we should've made him earn his keep. develop a functional offense first along with an actual championship that has meaning, and then reward him and the team with new shiny buildings and gadgets and what not. now, what we have is a $60 million dollar bill along with a probable multi-million dollar buyout clause to worry about in the future. we're going to go bankrupt soon.

I'm in the stars dont matter group. Recruiting good players does matter whether they are 2*s or 5*s.
I am pretty sure that the 60 million dollar bill has already had the funding figured out. Unless Stricklin has done a complete 180 nothing gets built by the UAA without the funding secured.

His buyout is $6M+ for those keeping track. Nice facility investment. I think these have been in the works since WM was here. Foley just didn't want WM to get the credit imo. Hence the big flip flop by Foley from WMs departure to 2 months later when they announced all the New investment in facilities.

Facility improvements are for the University of Florida and its players. Not some damn incentive program for the coach.
