Mess like that has happened at many places. It usually is pushed in public against the fans when the coach is trying to deflect from problems. I hope Mullen doesn't take the Mac route.

Gator Twitter is a fkn shitshow. Ppl have no problems tellin our players to go fk themselves.

Just this week, DelRio stood up for Emory and was immediately attacked

No. Mullen makes millions of dollars and we’re second to last in the SEC east. We can bitch all we want.

That happens at the other big SEC schools also. Heck people create accounts sometimes just to troll other teams players. Its usually never mentioned much. Makes me think Mullen might actually know he is leaving but I may be dreaming thinking that.

We are a great fanbase. People love to paint us as the worst. frick them. We wanna win like anyone else. If that makes us assholes every cfb fan is an a-hole.

I think it's a problem. Murf Baldwin (Top Billin') mentioned in one of his vids the other day that he'd seen Gator fan behavior impacting our recruiting, noting that he still works a lot in the world of high school recruiting. He wasn't saying that's the magic bullet as to why Dan can't recruit, but he was noting that our fanbase in particular's toxicity on platforms like Twitter has made it that much easier to flip commits.

I think this is over emphasized, but again this is the only online outlet that I partake in. I think its true as stated before that 99.9% of fanbases have this same issue. But I'm not on twitter so I'm not sure how toxic it is on there I guess. My biggest problem with Facebook groups is that people on there with no knowledge or football credentials get on there and try to echo something they read on a board somewhere. I think its fine to be a fan without having much knowledge about football but just keep your mouth shut when conversations are going on.

The obvious answer is yes

But OU just did the same thing to Rattler.

There is a segment of the Gator fanbase that have unreal expectations and when not met these Nega-Gators trash everyone from the Athletic Director to the Groundskeeper. This is a cancer to the athletic program and poisons the water for Coaches, players and recruits. As a % we probably have a higher number than most other SEC teams.

We are better than most, but probably not the best behaved fan base, and it used to bother me that we were not more civil. Now that the NIL money is being paid to players, I really don't care. They wanted to get paid, so they had better produce. They are fair game now imo. I still think it is tacky as hell though.

I don't think most of our fans are that bad, but of our fanbase who is bad, they are at least as bad as any. I also think our fanbase tends to be a little more internet savvy than many others, so we're pretty good at pressing buttons online. Gators pioneered this shite actually, going back to FireRonZook.com.

I wouldn't say any of us here are particularly toxic. I think there is a pretty normal level of frustration that gets vented on this board, and we mostly take it out on each other. But some of this shite on Twitter is just beyond the pale. I also know as well as anyone that Twitter isn't even close to the real world, but if you live and breathe that world like young athletes do, it feels like it does.

If we're serious about recruiting, we can't jump down a coach's throat for not doing everything he can and then excuse a chunk of our own fanbase going after players on Twitter as no big deal.

So you're 18 and getting recruited by UGA, Bama, and us. UGA and Bama seem all sunshine and rainbows, while we're making players' mothers not want to come to games. Will that change when UGA and Bama aren't doing great? Sure it will, but what difference does that make right now when those teams are?

I've gotten to interact with quite a few CFB players over the last 10 years, and I'm telling you straight up, it matters. Neg me all you want, it's just the truth. It's not the only thing, but when you have offers from four Top 10 programs sitting there, it is the kind of thing that may sway someone just enough.

All the SEC schools (except maybe Vandy lol) have people that go overboard with this stuff along with plants also on twitter and the rest that try to make other schools look bad. If that school is underperforming it brings this out in people that choose to be idiots. I can't count the times I have seen stuff like this with FSU and Miami in recent years due to their struggles also. Not excusing it but its reality and I doubt it changes.

There are nasty elements in every cfb fanbase but what I know for sure is that as soon as coaches start blaming fans for lack of success it’s time to change coaches.

This and shitty facilities. That’s one reason I don’t wanna shite can Stricklin. He is making a commitment towards facility upgrades.
