We are a 6-6 team. At best.

Were a dumpster fire that would be better suited playing who's in my mouth more than football,
But that was a lot closer of a game than I thought. And that makes it worse for me. I came into this expecting nothing, and in true Carolina fashion we actually resemble a football team for a couple drives and I get excited.
Then before it even happens you can just tell what's coming. Same song and dance. Same post game comments and threads. More clemson fans on the way.
I gotta stop caring about this shite so much. I'm aging faster than Manziel on a Friday night.

There is a few observations I have noticed this year...
Bentley takes unnecessary sacks, it looks like he is incapable of throwing the ball away or that he just truly believes he can make shite happen.
Bentley doesn't check down he will throw it up in good or double coverage.
This may be the first time I have ever said that too much confidence is a bad thing.
We all know the playcalling is stale and stagnant.... it's predictable. We never run outside. The 3 time we have we were successful. Dowdle has lost all confidence at RB.
Finally... injuries are taking their toll and it's a snowball heading downhill. It's only going to get worse.

In other words we are a goddamn mess and there's no cleaning ourselves up anytime soon.

We could starting cleaning ASAP but it will take a serious fanbase, not one under delusion like many of our fanbase still are.

Do you read the main board? I meant actual Clemson fans will come here to gloat. And who can blame them. Were garbage.

Wut....
U are so busy being negative and bashing the school and fan base. You may as well be a tater.
If the program causes u that much angst, try out a different one. I understand being upset after a loss, but holy frick you may need to seek help.

Like I said, at best, we're 6-6. The only winnable games left are maybe Tennessee, Vandy, and Wofford. Actually considering getting a second job so I can do something else with my Saturdays the rest of the way.
We always get together as a family to watch the USC-Clemson game, but I really don't need to watch that this year.

I am a newcomer to watching a lot of South Carolina football, being to devoted to my own personal purgatory of Arkansas football, but I've watched enough the last few weeks to make some uneducated guesses about the team.
Bentley has regressed as a QB despite the glowing media reports talking about how he is on the fast track to the NFL. He's standing in the pocket too long, and y'all don't have the O-Line for him to do that. He's not going through his route progression... or Roper is doing what Houston Nutt used to do and teaching him to only look at one or two WRs.
The same things Austin Allen was doing earlier in the season for us and still tends to do from time to time. The big difference between the two QBs right now are two factors.
One, our OC, Dan Enos, while he has his fair share of detractors, is capable of developing and teaching a QB. When Allen threw a temper tantrum on the sideline against A&M and tried to walk away Enos grabbed his jersey and held him there while he talked him through everything. He didn't yell or scream at Allen, but he was firm and got his lesson across. It helped.
I'm not sure your OC is doing that sort of thing and if he is then he's not doing it well. Bentley looks as shaky now as he did in the first week. There isn't a progression of skills and patience.
Two, its all on Bentley's shoulders right now. When Allen sucks a dick throwing the ball we can lean on the running game (which has its own problems for us I will grant you). Roper hasn't developed a running attack for USC as near as I can tell.
Its not a talent problem. David Williams, a former South Carolina RB, has scored as many TDs for us in 4 games as he did during his career at USC. Y'all have the talent, you just don't have the emphasis on developing and sustaining a good rushing attack and that goes back to your OC.
The defense is playing well enough to put y'all in a position to compete and win games. You've got to fix your offense though, even if it means shite canning Roper and promoting an assistant to call the plays.

Good luck trying to get that point across. Throughout Muschamp's head coaching career, the lack of talent on offense has always been his get out of jail card. But all of his players that transfer somewhere else become competent players- just look at Brissett and Driskel.
Proper cannot call a decent game, this is true. And Bentley doesn't look as good as he did even last year. But in every interview on the subject, Muschamp appears to believe in Roper, and therefore they're kinda tied together. Letting Bobby Bentley or BMac call plays isn't very likely to happen.
What we have is what we'll probably have for as long as Muschamp is here. A defense that plays well, and over its collective talent, but an offense that cannot seal victories and allows the defense to get exhausted late in games. In essence, it's the exact same problem Muschamp had at UF. He's exactly the same guy now that he was when Foley fired him.

There are some things Roper can't control (our kicker missing easy FGs, Bentley fumble inside the 10). That was at least 6 points we left on the board, possibly 10. Those things are largely out of Roper's control.
With that said, he deserves the criticism that he has been getting.
I mean, we were up 10 late in the 3rd QT and it looked like our game plan was to try to run out the clock as if there were 4 minutes left in the game.
Not only is that a terrible plan for any team, it even makes less sense for a team that can't run the ball like us.

Trying to put the game on ice too early has cost more teams winnable football games then anything else I can think of. Especially with a poor rushing attack.

Thats the thing though, we dont know if our rushing attack is poor or not. We have only tried 2 rushing plays... rush at left guard and rush at right guard. It's hard to say our RB's are no good when then are handcuffed by poor play design.
I never thought I would wish to see a bubble screen after the Holtz era, but shite I think it may confuse defenses to see it. They're so used to seeing rush middle left, deep throw, & rush right middle that something outside would be like seeing a damned unicorn.

I agree. I am fairly damn sure y'all have the horses to have a decent rushing attack. I think its a schematic issue here.
Which is a concern because all but the most gimmicky, and least successful at the upper levels, pass happy attack has well developed rushing options. If only to grind out a win when you have a big win or its third and 1.

I personally think this is complete bullshite that the mods let nonconference teams troll the rant continuously
Not sure if you saw earlier but tygerman started a thread earlier trolling Georgia fans and it was whacked almost immediately. But they would have let it stay up all day if hadn't been trolling you guys
