This really broke my heart..and I'm not one to be one of those chicks. This guy has gone thru hell and back to get here. Welcome aboard, Toure Boyd:

_boydisland#TBT 3 years ago I had my heart broken. I got so close to being where I wanted to be and came up short. I lost friends & close ones. I didn't know what to do I was broke, no where to go, no one by my side. I gave up on the game. My own friends laughed at me and said things like "Toure said he going to Boise but he still here".I started working at a best buy warehouse just so I could have some money in my pocket with no thoughts of getting back on the field. My uncle had a coach from a junior college reach out to me and I went on a visit to Fullerton College. I would have went there but my money situation was not in the right place at the time being. So I decided to move out on my own and started school that spring in Palm Springs. I had no money, my financial aid didn't go through at first , it was hard for me to eat. I got stuck in the situation to where I couldn't leave that school until the season was over. I got in trouble numerous times and had to sit out 3 games. The very first day I was at this school we had to introduce ourselves and state our goals. I recited, " My name is Toure Boyd and I'm going to the SEC". Everybody in the room laughed at me. The coach even had a smirk on his face. I played that season and had an okay season and transferred to Chaffey College where I met my first family. When I first got to Chaffey the coaches sent out my film from the previous school and Utah & Arizona offered me. This stirred up a lot of jealousy amongst people on the team and I heard things like," I don't know why Utah offered you your weak" , "you won't even start". As the season went on I was having a great year and the coaching staff at Utah assured me to commit because they had other options on the table and I wanted to weigh my options. Both Arizona and Utah pulled their scholarships and I was left with some small schools like Georgia St. & Southern Miss(which is still a blessing). After the season I was discouraged after being jumped and the next day got a call from USC. I stand today, 3 years later from embarrassment. 3 years of struggle. 3 years of disbelief from people. God saw the best in me when everyone could only see the worst.

He is absolutely part of the best football family in the nation now. Once a Gamecock, always a Gamecock.

Glad he has his shot. He'll have 3 to play 2. If he's not on the 2 Deep by the unc game, he should RS, IMO. He's getting a late start and isn't on the same level as the other late arrival, Johnson.

He brings a lot of swagger though, hopefully he can back it up.
