Probably extending contracts en masse bc we've fricked ourselves out of landing anybody on our list.

I swear to fricking God...Mizzou's plane is in Houston and of course they're jumping to that meaning they're talking with Herman. Hell, it could be true.

We're so fricked.

Apparently they are going out recruiting

Just saw this.

I hope to God you're kidding...

It makes me think, if they are going out recruiting, it's bc that staff is going to be here next year. Or the bulk of them, anyway.

My blood pressure just went to critically high levels.

This whole shite show and the way this year has played out on every fricking level including how so many damn ppl are now looking for HCs at the same time as us should be coined the fricking Spurrier Effect.

It's far, far worse than the chicken curse. The Spurrier Effect makes that pale in comparison.

Now UGA supposedly already has something worked out with Herman. Agreed in principle.

What is Herman? A full on Coaching Hire Whore?

Well we all know how "principled" a person Herman appears to be.

His word is apparently worth less than Carolina game tix come next year if Elliott ends up as our HC.

I think Smart will be who UGA will go after. There are so many openings now that we have to compete with I just don't know where that leaves us. I definitely have an uneasy feeling about it all.

You and me both.

I'm afraid Smart will go to UGA, the Gods will laugh at us and allow Herman to go to Mizz...

And we'll get stuck with Elliott.

Elliott must know some killer voodoo shite..he cast a spell to make all this fall into place. And Dabo was in on it, too.

If they do hire Elliott and he doesn't clean house I'm officially done. I will still pull for the basketball and baseball teams, but football......... I'll pass on pulling for anyone.

The only thing I'm optimistic about is that when we were looking in 2005 UF and LSU were also looking. They sure as hell had a lot of success with their hires, but I think we turned out alright as well.

Oh there's plenty of differences. I remember him distinctly saying early on that he didn't want to return to UF but if he had a chance to coach in the SEC he'd take it, even better if it was a chance to coach in the East.

You won't find that kind of reasoning for many coaches.

Alright, it's time to start talking about Bisaccia, for real.

Tanner has screwed up this search so badly that Bisaccia is the only remaining candidate not named Elliott that would take the job.

I didn't realize that RB was hired by Malzahn at Auburn as AHC before taking that Cowboys gig. So he has had some desire to coach in college in the middle of his NFL career. He's been enthusiastically endorsed by some big-name NFL players. Could he realistically be able to instill some discipline in the program? Bring some accountability?

I'm dead serious.

Keith Smart sounds like a logical move to UGA: he's a UGA alum, and has worked with Pruitt at Bama in the past. The rumors were that Pruitt and Richt had behind-the-scenes issues working together, and that Pruitt made some post-game comments about the UGA offense that was critical. So finding a HC that Pruitt is comfortable under may be the "Smart" move - pun intended....

USC is still in the SEC, and has upgraded and still upgrading to fantastic facilities. We are projected to bring in the largest revenue this fiscal year (over $100 million for the first time ever) due to the SECN as well as other factors, so if anything it appears we're still on the rise. USC brings a lot to the table that most of the other job openings will not offer....

A lot of other jobs? Sure. But nothing that UGA and So.Cal can't match and then some.

Hell, I wasn't even really worried about So.Cal because I'm not even sure they were looking at the same coaches.

But quite frankly, I just find it hard to find something we can offer a coach that UGA can't or doesn't. Again, maybe we're going after the same guys, maybe not.. but this Richt firing came at a terrible time for us.

The question is why? Why would he leave UNC to come here? He's competing for an ACC title right now, and, in all likelihood, if he beats Clemson he'll be in the playoff.

There's no reason for him to come here.

That said, at this point, frick it. Hire him.
