I'm here at the Oak Table right now - the night before Signing Day party.

Just an FYI, someone is playing serious games out there with some of our last minute hopefuls. Dirty tricks are the word ... hang on and keep our fingers crossed. Tomorrow is going to be edge of our seats.

Several staffs think they can poach us tonight evidently plus we've got what we think are probably some Clemson fans playing alter tricks and games via social media ... playing like they are Gamecock fans. Not cool.

As of right now the staff apparently feels good about the rest of our guys. Most people on both sides now think jamyest picks us.

I'd be interested if you hear of any shenanigans coming from UGA. I would think with Muschamp and Smart being friends this wouldn't happen. That and I'd like to think we as a program keep it between the lines...

Good luck to the Cocks tomorrow BTW. Living in Lexington I can honestly any it's more fun when we're both doing well. Stick it to FL and AU if you get the chance.

I didn't hear anything about UGA.

Heard Florida was trying to make a move on a couple of our guys and Clemson fans were using fake alt accounts on Twitter and Instagram to bomb some of our key high profile recruits with demands and racial crap ... while pretending to be Gamecock fans.

Same old shite they used to do with letters and postcards back in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Heard UNC was trying to make a late move on an OLineman.

The Florida thing is bizzare though ... they must think we're easy pickings.

Coaches were in their offices late. They were leaving when we were leaving the restaurant and headed to the Cockaboose. Everyone is going to be back at 6AM ... about 4 hrs and 20 minutes from now.

Jamyest is really struggling ... he's under a lot of pressure from his dad and locals to stay home. A lot of pressure.

Had a good turnout for the dinner and party tonight ... best one ever. Oak Table did a good job. Caught hell getting in at first because of the protesters. Cops stepped in and moved them all across the street and they were gone by the time we left.

No matter what happens as this day plays out for our Gamecocks, this staff worked their asses off for this class.

After getting a couple of hours of sleep I am reminded of something.

We've been in far more big recruiting battles with Georgia over the decades than anyone else. I mean I can remember the Reeves brothers and what a big deal that was ... and there have been many since - and those were the ACC days!

More often than not they've come into SC and won big recruits ... although we've taken out share out of Georgia, the biggest being George Rogers of course ... then Sterling Sharpe, Andrew Provence, et al.

This thing with Jamyest Williams .... it's same song different verse and I've seen enough of these go down over the years to know that - you just never know. But I do know it usually comes down to family in these close calls so take that fwiw.

I hope we hold onto him. His is a complicated story. He'd make a great Gamecock. He'd be treated like royalty here instead of just another high profile recruit ... because of his loyalty to us in the end.

In the end, we got him, but all sources were saying his dad was a main reason he stuck and has a great relationship with T-Rob. You were hearing differently?

During and after his UGA visit his Dad wanted him at UGA. So did everyone else around him.

He was gone after the UGA visit.

Then we got the last visit and T-Rob made it a "man's word" and loyalty issue ... resold him on everything that made him commit in the first place, etc.

Then Boom and T-Rob met with Dad and talked about getting him away from some things there locally that Dad had mentioned were issues ... so he took that home with them.

Monday rolls around and Dad says, (I paraphrase) "They're right Son ... you gave them your word and it would be better for you to get away from here and page your own way."

They decided to sleep on it and by Tuesday the final decision was made. It was that close.

T-Rob does have a good relationship with Dad ... but Dad had Georgia on the brain from the moment they stepped on UGA's campus for their official. And it was Jamyest who really stuck with us and made the final decision ... and I hear most everyone around him made him agonize over it until Monday. After that it was over and his buddies and family got on board.

It takes a real man and an even better father to give his son that kind of advice and not let his own red-and-black glasses get in the way. Kudos to Jamyest and his family, and definitely to Boom, T Rob and the rest of the staff.

Who was UF after? The only guy that I know of that both UF and USC were fighting for was Wyatt.

Supposedly Muschamp is making a run at Drew Hughes, UF's Director of Player Personnel (recruiting). UF has put him on the road when UF has been down a coach. He was originally hired by Muschamp. It would be a big win if y'all are able to get him.

Very interesting that the UF 2014 staff is so similar to the current USC staff with a few upgrades.

Wyatt and Sterling. Heard that bastard Rumph was the one that reached out to Sterling at the last minute ... he really burned his bridged with us while at Clemson and Bama but apparently he wants to burn all highways and flight hubs as well. He is bound and determined to try to steal one from us before his career ends.

And yeah, Muschamp tried to hire Hughes last year so he is definitely still after him although if Hughes doesn't come over soon then Muschamp will have to look elsewhere ... as I mentioned a few weeks ago, he fired Jamie Speronis - FINALLY! I'm glad to see that egocentric back stabbing hubristic prick go.

Muschamp wants Hughes as Director of Football Operations. We're happy with Robbie Lyles as Director of Player Personnel Recruiting as far as I am aware.

What's interesting about the comparison between the two staffs and getting the boys back together I guess, to some degree, is that Muschamp contended over and over and over again that if he had gotten one more year he felt like he had a great staff at UF in 2014. It's ironic that the SC game really sealed the deal on him losing his job. Foley would have kept him had he not lost that game and won at least one more.

I was not a fan of Muschamp's ... but he is growing on me in a hurry. The guy is old school and he can be a total a-hole but he is very well respected among his peers and the guy is a tireless worker. I keep hearing from people down in the football offices that Muschamp is a workaholic ... sleeps there half the time.

Thanks for the info.

It would be interesting if Hughes is not involved in recruiting. That is what he is known for.

USC staff is better than what he had at UF. Besides the turnover at OC, the WR coach position changed every year. Y'all have a really good one.

There is no doubt about Muschamp work ethic. He is able to do that because his wife is good people. I liked a lot of the things he did and how he handled difficult situations off the field. I was a big fan of his up to a current point.

Edit: Hughes hired by USC

Edit 2: Maybe not, supposedly Rivals UF site has confirmed that Hughes is at work on campus.

What's being reported is that Hughes will be Director of Player personnel and that Liles will be Director of Football Operations.

UF's guys are working faster. BSS was correct. Now being reported that CountryCrock convinced him to stay at UF.
