We know we're going to play:
09/17 - East Carolina
11/26 - at Clemson
TBA - Coastal Carolina

but we have 1 OOC game left to schedule?

Who do you want?
Here's a link to the other teams' 2016 schedules.

I'd like to see us get some Pac-12 action going.

Here are some (regional) teams with open dates for 2016:

fsu
miami
unc
ucf
fiu
marshall
mid tennessee
la tech

Not Regional, but available:
boston college
UNLV (yes, and we'll do a home&home)
stanford
KS State (the combined HC age would be impressive.)

Big12 and Pac12 are booked..I think, I didn't check all of them.
ETA, disregard

I want to see us play Georgia Tech in the Chick-fil-a kickoff in ATL.

GT was on the schedule for '17/'18 (I think) but got removed. I want to play them and I want to play in the Chick-fil-a kickoff game in ATL so it'd be awesome to kill two birds with one stone

We may have 2 open slots, but one of them will be easy to fill....

I believe that game with Coastal Carolina was scheduled back when we last played them in 2013. USC won that game 70-10, and after that season Coastal's head coach decided that he didn't want to schedule any more games with FBS opponents anymore, because it didn't really benefit his program other than to give Coastal's athletic department a nice paycheck, and those kind of paychecks aren't a big priority for Coastal anymore since that same head coach is also the Chairman of TD Ameritrade, and is rich as hell.

Coastal already had their game with Clemson for 2014 canceled, and Clemson had to replace them with SC State, which they had already played in 2013. I also believe that we replaced Coastal in 2016 with SC St...

While it would be cool to play in the Chick Fila Kick-off, I don't want to play Paul Johnson and that option offense! Wofford is bad enough for us.

This. Plus, even if it's Atlanta you know GT's side would only be a little over half-filled at best.

We probably will get a cupcake, would love for it to be a P5 home and home though.

2016 - I know it's a snoozer, but I'm cool with keeping the $ in-state with either El Cid, SCSU, Furman or Wofford. 10 of 12 games vs FBS should be enough in our league. we've got the "built-in" blood feud each year. let the 10 other SEC schools who don't have a season finale like ours find their 10th FBS game.

if it has to be FBS, maybe FIU/FAU or S. Alabama/Troy. Gamecocks can keep their name/brand in the headlines in areas of states we need to recruit.

beyond - sounds like USC is targeting Duke for a neutral game at BofA in 2017.

I wouldn't be surprised if the SEC ends up going to a 9 game schedule by 2018 - or as soon as the CFP auto-qualifies regular season champs from the each of the P5.

We've done some games with NC St. in the past - we can keep them as options along with UNC and also possibly add Duke as well. Nothing wrong with trying out either UVA - who we scheduled some games with in our early yrs in the SEC - and with VT, who we played a ton back when we were independent.

We also played GT a lot back then, but I'd be happy to bypass the Paul Johnson Era and those hair-pulling option teams. And as has been posted already keep the C-USA and Sunbelt teams in mind, and possibly add some options against AAC programs....

UVA

would like this. P5 but they suck.

VT

like this too, strong regional brand, but I think we win in a good game.

GT

echoing everyone else, no thanks to that offense. I like GT for the simple facts that I'm from ATL, they aren't UGA, and they beat up on Clemmy every now and again (last year was great).

What I think is most likely though is CUSA or Sunbelt.
