Lineup...

When Messina gets a deserved game off from behind the plate we all know he still needs to hit.

But why does kingston play messina at first and dh casas?

Messina needs to be the dh and casas needs to play his primary position.

Messina isn't close to Casas defensively. He misses plays Casas makes.

Give Messina the easier gig of just hitting.

There is no way to defend that rationale.

I mean he sees something we don't. I don't have a great answer for it, but maybe later he wants to pinch hit French and can put Messina behind the plate. I don't have a great answer but we are 30-5 so he is doing something right

Kingston hasn't ever shown he was a genius but I can remember Tanner bringing in a kid that hasn't played in a tough game and lo and behold the kid gets a hit.

it took Tanner a while to get that magic. A lot of decisions that he and Jerry Meyers made were questioned big time.

Then you have the magical hit and runs, and if some of those had gone wrong people would have questioned it. Part of it is ...its baseball. A lot of gut feeling goes into coaching it, a lot of analytics. Its easy to question it after the fact
