On another note, I still think that had Deebo not pulled up on that opening play, it would almost certainly have been a TD and would, quite possibly, have shifted the entire tone of the game to our favor.

I know that it appeared to be a hamstring (probably confirmed by now..haven't checked out the injury report) but he seems to stay injured.

ETA: Meant to mention that Orth's pass to Deebo on that play was a beauty. Gotta give credit where it's due.

This year is pretty important. Coming off of a 3 win season, we need to show that we're trending up to help with recruiting. And Muschamp needs to show that he isn't a bust.

Orth is not a better QB. Both of his wins are against Vanderbilt, and he lost to The Citadel. I've seen enough...

Completely agree.

That could have been as important as when Byrd caught that first deep ball against UGA in 2012. It likely would have set the tone.

Orth is not a good quarterback. I'm sure he's a great guy, the other players love him, he knows the playbook, he has a great work ethic, etc. However, when it come to actual football skills he is very deficient.

He does not have a strong arm. When he attempts to get some zip on a pass, he has to over exert and it leads his mechanics to fall apart causing his ball to sail. He is not overly accurate in general. He is undersized to be a pocket passer, but too slow to be an effective runner or even scrambler. Either he doesn't know how to read the read-option or he's afraid to run it; no one can be that bad at reading. He's just not suited to play qb in the SEC, and the fact he's been starting here for two years is an indictment against our recruiting the past 4 years at that position. Orth should not see the field again here barring injuries.

Not to overstate it, but does anyone think Orth should still start over McIlwain now? No way Orth gets those 2 TDs that we did get.

Man you guys over react so much just because a McIIlwain had a couple decent garbage time drives. Perry is still the better QB

I dare you to say you still feel this way
