Traveling to Columbia for the LSU game, any info on parking options would be appreciated. Would also like some info on tailgating, we will not be tailgating, just walking around checking out the sites, even though its an early kickoff. 4 guys 30-40 (2 married / 2 single), staying at Hyatt Place downtown. Looking forward to a good time!

Plenty of parking around the stadium, although the first come, first serve Fairgrounds lots will be closed due to the Fair. I would try Seawells or the lot behind Jaco's off of Rosewood. You could probably get there pretty easily from your hotel, and it would cost about $20-$25.

Your hotel is in a prime location. You will have everything you need there in the Vista for a good time. Nice bars, food, etc.

Agree if you're just looking for a parking spot go to Seawells or Jacos on Rosewood.

Walk through the Fairgrounds (north side of the stadium), Gamecock Park (west side), and around the new plaza immediately surrounding the stadium. That will take you by the Cockabooses on the south side and someone will probably invite you in if you look interested.

Another option if you aren't tailgating would be using a shuttle service. It's $3 per person and takes you from our basketball arena to the fairgrounds where you can walk around and take in the sights before the game. I would suggest finding another way back because there will be a very long wait for a shuttle after the game. It's around 2 miles back so you could either walk or grab a taxi.

One other suggestion:

Take an Uber from your hotel. It will drop you off at the storage buildings on the corner of Assembly and Rosewood. You could walk through the fairgrounds and check everything out. I am sure the Carolina fans would be accommodating as long as you aren't raising hell and would serve you food and a drink. Just a thought.

I had some friends of mine who came to town for the Kentucky game, and they took an Uber from the Hampton Inn in the Vista to there. Said it worked pretty well and was inexpensive.

Thanks for the responses... We are definitely not hell raisers, and will be looking for some South Carolina hospitality next weekend!
