With my second football season away from Oxford coming up, I'm adopting USCe as my team from the East. Y'all's entrance is , campus is only 100 miles out, y'all are experiencing the type of success we'd like to have in 2015 and beyond, etc. I'll quit the dick-riding now and get to my question.

My roommate (Carolina grad) and I will be looking to road trip for an away game. Looking at Clemson, Auburn or Florida, but most likely Gainesville since I've never been there. How have y'all's experiences been down there in recent years? Good crowds, good times, etc. TIA

Haven't been to Gainesville but should be going this year.

Went to Auburn in 2010 and it was great. Very friendly fans

Went to Clemson in 2005 for the Miami game. It was pretty, but I remember a lot of hills and waiting forever to get out because everybody had to use the same road

Step 1, you don't need to say USCe, we know who you're referring to. So Cal doesn't play in the SEC.

Step 2. Gainesville is a good road game, but getting a hotel there can be a hassle, so plan early.

Probably too late to find a hotel in Clemson or Auburn unless you're staying outside of town.

Go to Gainesville. Lot of fun and the UF fans aren't too hard on USC fans due to the Spurrier connection. Could have some SEC title game implications on the line, too.

Of the three, I'd say go to Gainesville. UF fans have always been very kind to us, and they really do have a beautiful campus/stadium. Lots of guidos, but that's not explicitly the university's fault.

Auburn is too "Pleasantville" for me. Everyone's nice and it's idyllic, but you get the impression that there's something pretty evil lurking under the surface.

If you want to go to Clemson, go on an off weekend, or when they're playing some also-ran in the ACC. It's a very heated rivalry, and their fans are notorious assholes when it comes to being around USC fans. But the campus and experience are worth seeing, so I'd still go, just not when they're playing USC.

And Ole Miss is, and always has been, my West team. Brother went to grad school there, and I've spent a lot of time in Oxford. Only other SEC school's hat that I own.

yep, worst thing about that place

took us 2 hours to move 10 feet after the game in 2012. felt a lot better after a win though

A$AP, is there even a remote chance that LeBron ends up in CLT, IYO?

Woah what's with all this love for UF fans? I enjoyed walking the campus and the stadium was cool but I went in 2013 and the fans were in our face before, during and after the game. Hell my bud wanted to check the score of a game that some UF fans were watching at their tailgate and they flat out rejected him. Told him nope and to keep walking, never heard anything like that nor have I seen such behavior out of UGA nor Clemson fans

LOL that's the funniest shite I've heard all year.

Why would he come to CLT anyway?

If he did I would run around five points in a Clemson shirt. (That's how confident I am)

You serious, Clark?

The stuff I've seen from UGA fans in Columbia is honestly disgusting. I hate those bastards.

CLT has the money, they could make it happen, but it's about convincing LeBron to do it. Maybe if MJ could use some influence or cut him in on a sweet package of endorsement deals we could have a remote shot. Although, I still think he goes to a big market team.

I've been to 7 SC-UGA games since 2004 and I've heard maybe 1 insult hurled my way, and that was from 1 drunken UGA student who thought he was using an original 'cock joke.

Yea but CLT is irrelevant.

He's way too big for CLT, all the money in the world couldn't get him

Wow. That's incredible. Just goes to show how much disparity there exists between fan experiences and fanbases. Glad that you've always enjoyed your encounters.

I went to four from 03-06, and I have no desire to go to another.

Spent a lot of time in the state of Georgia and their fans for the most part are fricking insufferable. They would fit in nicely in the West.
