Last week, ITT if i remember correctly, I would have sworn there was no way we finish lower than 15. Losing Nasirildeen was a tough break and unless we get the last minute heroics that can absolutely come from Muschamp, we may have trouble with that goal this year.

Everybody in the pool texted me today to claim how lucky I am .... but I'm not counting my Gamecock eggs until they're hatched. If I win though I'm buying a new fishing pontoon for the fish camp before the catfish rut starts in April.

ok so I'm over on TOS this morning and I'm reading a report on Nasirildeen. The report stated that one of the reasons given for hesitancy to sign with us is how much he would be expected to play as a freshman and him not feeling confident in his ability to do that. Now... I have NEVER heard of potential for early play being used as a negative. While I can't say that this is necessarily 100% above board and not just a BS excuse, what I can say is if you as a player are afraid to play... idk that I necessarily want you on the field. again, this is probably bs but I also don't know why if you were going to make up an excuse to not choose a school why that would be the way you would go.

Wesley Green was too scared to play his freshman year and essentially demanded a redshirt which he got. Then transferred.

Kinda don't want a kid that doesn't want to play

I can understand an underweight OL/DL wanting a RS to improve S&C + learn technique. That's smart

A safety?

Initially I thought "This kid is full of shite" just making an excuse. Then I remembered back to the Shrine Bowl. During the practice week we did hear reports of him flashing athleticism but we also heard tale of him having trouble in coverage. If he was having trouble covering the best high schoolers in the state especially in a down year recruiting wise, maybe he was legit nervous about being called on early to cover SEC caliber WR. Who knows?

Yep ... plus we've taken 15 pigs in the past 4 days. 4 more this morning.

We're going to close so strong though ... I don't think I've got a chance to win with 17.

Solid we are running beagles on some rabbits friday.

Also saw where hamsah said he felt FSU had the better coaches at his position to develop him, and he didn't want to RS.

I want to kill a pig with my bow..so bad. Very fortunate that we don't have any where I hunt, but the yotes have done a number on our deer herd. If it's not the yotes, then we've got something else going on because I've never seen our herd numbers as low as they currently are.

I hope you're right on our closing. I can't tell whether Nasirildeen is full of crap or just full of crap. One report says he doesn't feel confident, another says he doesn't want to RS and feels FSU has better position coaches. Maybe it's best we did lose him. But again, really hoping you're right in our closing.

Any reports on JW's visit to UGA last week?

Here's the four we took yesterday morning ...

They've been averaging between 60-100 pds which is good eatin'. The biggest one so far was 215.

I am told Williams is recruiting for us and did so at UGA ... but who knows. Heard last night that we're still confident he is signing with us. "Relationships"

I've had wild boar sausage before and loved it. A former co-worker went somewhere in Alabama and killed a mess of them. He brought a bunch of sausage back and gave me a good bit.

Good to hear on Williams. He reminds me of Ace Sanders, only on defense.

I hope you're right my man. Tony at 247 is becoming less and less confident that we hold on to Jamyest. It will be a crushing blow if we whiff.

Folks that have not had it dont know what they are missing. We dont have any thankfully on our farm (middle Ga.) but several folks do north of us. They are fun to hunt.

He does remind me of Ace too ... but at the Wednesday morning breakfast this morning everyone seemed confident we're still going to sign him.

About the pigs ... those small pigs we're bleeding (as you can see) and we'll keep those whole for the spit, the rotisseries. The bigger ones we're butchering for hams, ham steaks and sausage. These wild and feral pigs don't have much rib meat.

So far we've put up over 500 pounds of dressed meat. I'm hoping we put up another 500-1000 pounds between now and March but all the killing these past few days have them wary of us right now.

In March we'll start concentrating on the catfish down there (these are all coming from our fish camp at Santee-Cooper, including the pigs). I'm hoping to put up a few hundred pounds of catfish this spring. I lost one of my big meat freezers last summer while we were in Honolulu. It wasn't pretty when we returned. So I'm having to restock for emergencies.

But back to this recruiting class and the Jamyest of the Jameses ... as I was told last night, and again this morning, our coaches are in almost daily contact with him so if they were getting bad vibes they would be in a different posture over there, yet they are not.

Now, if after all of this he does sign with UGA then sobeit. If he is that good at pulling the wool then it is probably better if he does go to UGA from our perspective. But, to the contrary, all I keep hearing is that he is recruiting for us and helping us to close strong with a surprise or two ... that the kid has exceptional character and a great relationship with our coaches. He's getting a ton of pressure from the locals which is why he's withdrawn publicly to some degree, but who can blame him at this point.

This weekend is ultra huge for us - beyond words really because we have to kill it this weekend and, if we do, we're all going to be very very happy ... #MGGA

ETA: I just gotta add too ... I've never seen such an organized effort for a big recruiting weekend and the key to all of it this weekend is Jesse Jackson. This is the woman I alluded to just a week or so after Muchamp was hired that I think I typed something like "might be the biggest hire of them all" or something like that. Well, she's phenomenal. LINK

Also, finally getting rid of Jamie Speronis was a biggie and good for the program as well.

Everything is thumping over there like a well oiled machine ... it really is.
