Don't panic on the decommits ...

... expect them to start rolling-in.
This happens every time - it'll run its course and we may take a lick this year but we'll recover. Been watching this stuff happen for decades now. Sometimes you gotta make a mess to fix a mess.
ETA: You should have seen it when Joe Morrison died. It was crazy. The entire class decommitted almost overnight. Some big names too. Ended up at Tennessee and Georgia, even Clemson.
We'll get past this - it's gonna be a rough ride for a little while though.

Per multiple sources, #Gamecock QB commitment Brandon McIlwain still telling folks he's 100% solid.

McIlwan committed to the school not the coach thankfully. The guys who will be decommitting are guys that had a good chance of de committing anyways.

The only recruit I care about in this class.

My biggest issue is the 2-3 year comment last year led to a wave of decommits, 2 years in a row will be harsh.

Not like we have a lot of talent committed this class.
McElwain to worry about because he is potentially program changing if we get a good coach

If we hire an up and coming young coach who is a hell of a recruiter, we may end up better off.

You may be right but it will be hard in the short term. Sparky Woods knew he needed talented kids and did a decent job under the circumstances.
Right now we need to focus on getting the next HC so he can come in and rebuild the program. I suggest getting rid of all asst. coaches and start from scratch.

The only assistant I would like to keep would be Elliott.

Elliot and Mangus are good with me. However, if we have the opportunity for a monster upgrade, then we just have to make the Smart decision.

Also, PJ Blue told Rivals and 247 that we're still his favorite, there's a chance he comes back on board.

I have a feeling that this is going to backfire on all the Spurrier haters that are saying he just fricked us over.
I think PJ ends up back with us and McIlwain and the guys he actually recruited himself to come to Carolina are all still 100% committed. They all said they committed to the school, not the coach.
