Bears QBs have a better chance of getting out of the south side of Chicago than their own backfield.

Probably why they picked up Shaw in the first place

Shaw would've undoubtedly started before Hoyer this season. Everyone in the Bears program was high on Connor throughout the preseason.

But he was a preseason casualty ... who wants to be a Bears QB with that shitty protection?

Front office saw the problem coming. Wanted Shaw's mobility to help offset the issue.

That makes sense .... I hope, I really believe, he's going to make a strong comeback. His leg is healing nicely.

He's going to be here Mizzou weekend ... I'll see if he'll let me take a picture of that leg again. Last time it almost made me frickin' have sympathy pains. Entirely black and blue ... made my leg hurt. He'll be close to getting the boot off by then.

Makes me feel bad for Shaw. He would have had significant playing time this season.

Look at the bright side.

Atleast he's in Chicago not Cleveland.

I mean it could be worse, he could be in some shitty areas Like Jacksonville, Tampa or Buffalo.

Chicago is a fricking gem.

I mean, I think he lives in Greenville so it isn't like he has to be completely immersed into these NFL cities.

Well, this might be Shaw's time coming up.

The Bears are in serious trouble. Hoyer will be done for several weeks with a broken arm. Cutler was being rumored to be traded to PITT, and he doesn't really have a set return date scheduled. Barkley is CHI's only QB right now.

The Bears have Shaw, White and Langford on IR. I believe they can only bring back 1 player from IR. Howard and Carey are doing alright at RB, so that makes Langford's return less of a priority. White's stress fracture should actually keep him out for most of the season anyways. That would make Shaw the most needed person to come off of IR, IF he in fact has recovered well enough to do so.

Isn't Shaw out the whole year? I assumed he was.

I hate to say it but I think Chicago drafts a QB. (Watson, Kizer and Jackson are the big 3 names thrown around in early Mocks)

Not sure why Pitt would take Cutler, he's under contract until 2020 and that'a a lot of money to take on just as a rent a QB while Big Ben heals.

That's the thing. I'm not sure if his leg is fully healed or if he's out of the cast yet even. I think he would be out of the cast and rehabing the leg now though.

I agree with that, they'll probably go QB the 1st Rd and the way their season is going, they'll have a high pick.

It's not as much $ as you might think. Cutler's current contract only has $2M in dead money next year. CHI could trade/cut him and only owe him $2M. They could even pay his buyout while he renegotiates a contract with PITT. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/jay-cutler-2493/

I think early diagnosis had Shaw maybe being cleared to come off IR by Week 14, but I don't know if that's changed since August.

With as significant as his injury appeared, I think it'd be a near miracle if he actually got off IR this season.

He's been in and out of the boot lately ... but the boot should be coming completely off soon. He let's it breath, he's on crutches but he's working it.

He's also staying with an upper body program and doing the ortho rehab program on that leg ... he's got good doctors and therapists.

He's living in Chicago btw ... he just got his new apartment/condo last week I think, or the week before. He seems to like it up there.

I wonder if he's met Leroy Brown. I was once told he is the baddest man in that whole damn town. I am delirious.

Most do.

Chicago is kick arse.

Hope the Cubs can win too.
