Frank wanted to play a tougher schedule, so hopefully Syracuse and Michigan will turn out to be really good.

Lol. We had a decent improvement on last season for football. I'm not ready to call it quits yet. But that clemmy game did leave a sour taste in my mouth.

As for basketball, I am definitely excited for this season. I think we definitely will make the tourney. There's decent teams in the SEC outside of UK and UF so I imagine we will stumble a few times but generally we should be good enough to make the tourney and at least win one game.

I had a ton of fun watching the basketball team last year.

I expect to have a better time if it this season. Shootyhoops is fine by me.

The Big 10 has some decent teams this season in Indiana, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Maryland, so Michigan should have a solid to great RPI and SOS throughout the season - especially if they can win some of those games as they go along.

Syracuse of course resides in the vaunted ACC, so their RPI which isn't that great right now, will only be among the nation's best at season's end.

Clemson is also in the ACC, and they are expected to at least reach post-season play of some kind this season. The perfect scenario would be to be a top-25 ranked team when they come to CLA to play us in front of undoubtedly a packed and crazy house. Which all signs are pointing well to that happening.

And even Seton Hall plays in the tough Big East, which has teams like Xavier, Butler, Creighton, and Villanova, so again they will be a high RPI/SOS opponent all season long.

And that doesn't even get into the SEC schedule. As long as we take better care to not have bad losses to bad RPI opponents like we did last season, then we should be OK. Or we should at least be much improved in that area.....

Our own SOS is currently in the top 50 with most online sources. We had one of the worst SOSs last season, with perhaps only Miss State or Missouri being worse than ours. It stayed outside of the top 100 all season long and mostly was closer to the 200s than the 100s. We ended up around 120-130 in SOS.

Can't have a weak SOS, and add to that bad losses against bad teams (Tennessee, Mizzou, Miss St.). That makes it appear as if our win-loss record was built up on bad teams. The RPI will be decent just based on the sheer weight of the win-loss record if we win the vast majority of them, but if the strength of those wins is perceived to be poor, it takes the shine off of the wins, and off the great season we had.....

We're turning into a well rounded program all the way around.

Women's soccer ... but the men could be a lot better if we hire a young hotshot coach. Mark is a good guy but well past his prime in the game.

Both golf teams are looking pretty good.

Tennis is getting there.

Swimming and diving is doing much better.

Track and field should be improving with the new facilities.

Baseball might make it back to Omaha this year hopefully.

Both basketball teams are looking good.

Football has a ways to go.

Softball ... I dunno. We gotta get some more players.

I hate it that Alex Hamilton left, but I know he didn't want to be an assistant forever. Seemed like he really helped during his time with the men's team. He's really a great guy and wish him all the best at South Alabama.

I want us to succeed in all sports.

These basketball teams are really good though. The women's team has already beaten some top teams. They should make a deep post season run, their floor is probably the Elite8, they could go all the way though. That was a big road with vs #4Louisville.

The men's team is a shock. With all the graduations and early departures I was pretty sure we wouldn't be as good as last year. I am wrong. I think we are better than last year. Barring injury, this team is absolutely good enough to make the tournament and possibly win a couple games. These FR and new players are playing at a much higher level than I or their ratings projected. If they continue to develop at this rate we could make a serious post season run.

Most of us feel that way, but Frank has a four-year head start on Muschamp. And they each face/d similar holes.

Until the football program is back (and even once it is), enjoy what Frank and Dawn have built. It's going to be a lot of fun.

I'm enjoying very much what Frank has done.

I love men's basketball.

And Football.

And that's all.

Was just responding to a poster talking about ALL Sports.

Just because you want certain ones to do well over others, doesn't mean we can't hope all sports do well.

Of course anyone would rather be great in football and basketball than Tennis or Soccer. But it's nice when those sports are also good.

I support the school, not individual sports programs within the school.

Football -> Men's Basketball -> Baseball -> Women's Basketball for me.

The others I am interested in and pull for, but its a dramatic drop off after those four.

I'm just talking here as well.

You seem to have a smug tone in every post you make. It's hard talking to you.

Yeah, but I feel like Muschamp won't get 4 years to build the football program like Frank has had with basketball. People are more impatient with football.

Muschamp will have to prove progress, such as what Martin has done. I think the fanbase now recognizes just how eroded the program was after SOS and Jr were finished. Now we'll have to see what Muschamp's players are able to do, as there are very few upperclassmen around.

The East isn't good. The door is open for the football team to improve dramatically, but there has to be some milestones along the way. Otherwise, yeah, the fanbase will run out of patience.
