That's what I was thinking too... but you gotta think between the 3 schools remaining that were in the best situation as far as pitching. Both of those schools are small, how deep are their bullpens?

I think Webb can go again. So can Johnson and Reed Scott. Need a senior like Fiori to step up as well.

Not sure I trust our bullpen to make it 3 games, especially with UNCWs hitting prowess/

We needed t win game 1 so we could get Webb to go against uncw game2. uncw's pitching isn't good, but their offense is elite. It's going to be a slugfest.

At least Holbrook made 1 nice memory today to remember his time here.

That was about as dominating a Win as I've ever seen in college baseball.

UNCw has hitters for days, this will be a huge challenge to beat them twice.

93% of all Super Regional Teams won Game1 of their Regional.

That was incredible. I was thinking 5-6 innings tops, but he was cruising. Nice to see the bats wake up the last two games, as well.

Roll call for tomorrow?

Obviously we still have a challenge ahead of us tomorrow, but Clempson is really on the ropes. It looks like we might get an opportunity to host if we can take care of business.

I doubt we play today. Calling for rain all day, heavy at times. Does this benefit us or them? Allows us to rest pitching, but also allows our hot bats to cool down some.

Game today officially postponed until tomorrow. If we can't play tomorrow b/c of weather, we will advance to Super's.

The reasoning is in the first 2 pages of this thread.

Glad I don't live in Wilmington any longer. I'd have never heard the end of it should that happen.

They have some weird fixation on and almost tater-level hate of the Gamecocks.

I grew up down the road from Wilmington and I would have to say there isn't any hate of the Gamecocks. It's more of the run off of the UNC Tarholes supremacy act towards us. Their fans think that since they are apart of the UNC system they have bragging rights and can be very obnoxious most of the time.

Just wondering, have they set a time for tomorrow's game yet?

Thanks for the update. I'm guessing that Widner will take the mound but has anybody heard of a another possible starter for tomorrow's game?

As for UNCW they will have their top guy Ryan Foster with extra day rest after throwing 114 pitches Friday afternoon. The Seahawks will also use Austin Magestro and Austin Easter for a couple of innings Tuesday.

Schmidt - 89 pitches**
Widener - 48 pitches*

Our freshest arm will be Scott, who has only threw seven pitches in the regional. Clarke Schmidt, Braden Webb, Taylor Widener, Reed Scott and Josh Reagan will all be available for us tomorrow.

**Starter on Friday
*Pitched 3.1 innings Friday

Tyler Johnson single handedly destroyed the Top5 Hitting UNCW team....however, something big6 just wrote makes sense to me. What if we pitched several guys tomorrow night regardless of how the game is going?

We didn't start Tyler all year, they never saw him coming. I think they're a team that probably preps a lot for certain pitchers they expect to play the next game. That might be why they usually hit so well, but they hit like garbage against Tyler. What if we use 4+ Pitchers tomorrow and never let their batters settle in or study 1 guy too much?

I find this to be pretty ironic considering he pitched almost every game during the regular season
