I hope they play that one ... love that song.

I hope they play AC/DC Back in Black this Saturday.

I hear there is going to be a lot of rap played ... I get it, I do, but I'm not crazy about it. Never have understood the rap thing.

Nothing gets you jacked up for a game like AC/DC.

Angus Young and the boys pump adrenaline straight into you.

What ever it is, it should transcend generations. For me that's a lot of 70's funk. Why?

Because it appeals to the generations that was in school when that music was popular (late 1960's-1970's). Those folks are now in their 60's and 70's.

It appeals to people in their 40-50's because they heard their parents playing that music when they were growing up.

It appeals to people in their 30's because it was sampled extensively by Rap and R&B artists in the 1990s. They might not know the original songs, but they recognize the riff from the rap song that used it 20 years later...

Any younger than that, and I don't know....

And I should say that the DJ shouldn't play more than the hook on any song they play. That' all that's needed for an event like this...

Dazz - Brick (Damn I'm glad y'all set it off...)

Parliament - Give up the Funk...

Curtis Mayfield - Superfly

Incredible Bongo Band – Apache

Herb Alpert - Rise (Fans of 1990's hip hop will recognize this is where Biggie got the hook for Hypnotize... )

And since we already stole the Rooster Crow from Early in the Morning....
Gap Band - You dropped the bomb on me

And they won't play anything like any of this...

I think the DJ is for the recruits... expect Kendrick, Migos, stuff like that. Probably will get some 80's rock mixed in though.

Honestly-more band & less DJ. There's a place for a DJ, but let's not go all NFL. And don't drown out the crowd.

That's why sandstorm works so well. The music and the crowd work together.

Reckon I'm an old curmudgeon like Rooster.
