I'd move Ingram to LB and try to think of another DT that would fit better there like Nathan Pepper perhaps ... or even the Geathers kid.

RB-Boyd over Davis based on right now. If Davis has another great year will be solid 1 or 2. Boyd JR and SR had 2500 combined yards as RB.

Very compelling argument. Now I did think of Boyd initially, but Boyd never led the SEC and Davis' ceiling is higher, so I made the call for Davis. Davis will be over 3000 all purpose by the end of next season. You could absolutely make a valid argument for Boyd though.

WR-Ellington big over Newton.1400 yds and 14 TDs receiving for Ellington over Newton's 400 yds and 3 TDs receiving.

Lots of love for Ellington in this thread, and he's great, so it's understandable. Wasn't Newton the first USC player to ever have over 1000 yards passing, 1000 yards receiving and 1000 yards rushing? Newton could be playing in the pro's had we ever just put him somewhere and stayed with it. The problem was he was our best offensive weapon and we had to move him around.

Newton would have to be on the All Spurrier Era team, even if it was just for All Purpose. He could do anything we asked him to do.

Ingram came in as a LB, but was never known for it here (I know he now is an OLB for the Chargers though, but they play the 3-4.)

Hypothetically, if we were to name another DT though, I like your suggestion of Pepper. Geathers was a DE. What about Stanley Doughty? Trav would be a 1st team DT and Peppars or Doughty would back him up.

I liked Doughty as a talent, but he was a head case from the beginning. Geathers played both DE and DT while here which is why I thought he might make a good utility DLineman especially for when we went to the rabbit package.

Looks like this thread could have inspired an article in the State newspaper yesterday

uh....Glen, paging Glen, this jig is up!

Good list, I forgot of Levey (another player I associated with the Holtz era), that's a good call, but I dont know if I like him more than Meredith.
