Honestly, Lee reminds me a little of Brad Scott in that yes he coached for the rival team as the headman but he has a better relationship with our school.

His relationship with Tanner will make this work. It seems like those two have hit it off pretty well.

Anyone know what kind of offseason Michael Braswell had? Haven't heard much about him and thought he was probably the best player on our roster.

Apparently on Carolina Calls last night, Kingston said he was battling for the starting 3B job.

You probably want your best athlete on 3B, but not exactly where I saw his future going.

There is something going on with him behind the scenes as he wasn't named a starter.

You would like that wouldn't you so I gave an upvote. You will need the positive to help get over both your losses.

South Carolina has announced that the starting rotation on opening weekend will be Sanders, Hall and Mahoney in that order. The strength of the team is in the pitching staff, both from a depth and front-line talent standpoint. Sanders is projected as a first round MLB Draft pick this summer. Hall led the SEC in innings pitched against conference competition last year, and was sixth in the SEC in ERA, eighth in opposing batting average and third in strikeouts. Mahoney was a Freshman All-American in 2021, but missed last season coming off of Tommy John surgery.

The bullpen is deep and talented, with one of the front-line guys being Austin, who was fourth in the SEC in ERA last year as a freshman. Becker, Jones and Hicks are other returnees who project to see major innings either in a midweek starter role or bullpen role. Newcomers Eli Jerzembeck, a freshman, and California transfer Nick Procto

20-3 pounding with 5 home runs. Our offense looks much better with hitters only worrying about putting the bat on the ball. Will Sanders looked just like a pitcher that hasn't pitched since last season. I don't understand why we immediately put him in as Friday starter instead of giving him a few weekends to knock the rust off. Williamson looked potent as the closer.

5 games 80 -8 with 20 home runs. Great thing is this offense doesn't just rely on the long ball. Pitching staff has been lights out as has our fielding. Looking forward to the series with cow college to see if this is for real.

Yeah, outside of Clemson our OCC schedule looks pretty weak. But hey, you can only play the games in front of you and we’re taking care of weaker teams the way we should be. That in of itself is encouraging.

Penn is a decent team. Went 33-15 last year with most of the team back and they took a series from Texas a&m last year. I will take a win but still questioning why Sanders is starting Fri nights when he is still rusty.

Winning is nice, but the fielding is a concern. We’re up to 9 or 10 errors I believe

It was maybe the most underrated part of the Tanner teams. Every year we had a .970 Fielding % or better.

Copied your schedule post and put on my first post so we could keep up with our record. Hope you don't mind me doing that.

Mark Kingston is allergic to winning on a baseball diamond in every way imaginable and a few that aren't.

He's so far beneath the pedigree of Gamecock Baseball.

None of it his fault - either.

Rayberry Tanner is solely to blame.

Shameful what is happening in Greenville right now after the no-show last night.

I mean...we won game two and can win the series tomorrow. Yeah dropping a game sucks but all but a handful of teams in the country have done it this year
