Tanner needs to give Martin what he wants. He appears to be comfortable here, and he has put a ton of work into the program. It's absolutely Martin's baby now. Let's hope that they can get this done. There will be no shortage of suitors coming after him in the offseason.

I hope Tanner doesn't screw this up.

Surely he will not - the BoTs are not going to let him I wouldn't think.

Also, bracketology update.
quote:

ESPN: Joe Lunardi has the Gamecocks as an eight seed in the Midwest region, taking on Saint Mary's - projected by Lunardi out of the WCC.

SB Nation: Chris Dobbertean has the Gamecocks as an eight seed as well, matching up with nine-seed Saint Joseph's in the South region.

CBS Sports: Jerry Palm had the Gamecocks as a 10 seed taking on Notre Dame in the East region, paired with (2) West Virginia and (15) UNC Asheville.

USA Today: Shelby Mast has it as an eight seed vs. Cincinnati in the East region.

Don't think it matters....
on the road...
without a pure 3 point shooter...
expecting a ugly loss that should be a win.

Defense usually wins in the first two rounds.

If we can play D ... who knows.

We've got three point shooters, they're just streaky. If Notice and Carrera get a little bit hot, and we play good defense, we can beat just about anyone.

I dunno, perhaps it is wishful thinking. But I would love to see us win that first round game and get over the hump. We're the kind of team that a neutral crowd could get behind as a Cinderella team, the way we play ugly, and it could payoff on a neutral court.

Jerry Palm over at CBS is the only one that says we're on the bubble. Haven't seen anyone else say we're not in.

Beat UGA twice in the regular season and lost in the tournament last year.

Let's return the favor this year. Losing to them at home was inexcusable.

Carerra wasn't able to practice today, he's doubtful for tomorrow's game.

Agreed, I actually wanted us to play UGA for this exact reason, looks like I got my wish.

fricking unbelievable, JJ Frazier is the goddamn bane of our existence.

Going to have to sweat it out Sunday night.

We should be ok.

I'm bummed that we are one and done in Nashville, but we should still safely be in the NCAAT.

Check out this silver lining

1) we don't have to play UK, which nearly broke us last time we played them. Don't want that going into the tourney

2) and 10 or 11 seed isn't bad. It's winnable and it avoids the 1 seed in round two.

I am still in shock over the events that took place last night. Worst case scenario, we miss the last shot and go to OT. However, we always find a way to create a new worst case scenario.

What's shocking is Sin said last night that he didn't even know it was tied, he thought we were down. Hence why he tried to get the ball back, fouling Frazier in the process.

Had no idea he said that. He played such a great game to have it end that way.

and that wasn't even near the contact Chat took on his offensive rebound/put-back to put Carolina up 54-49. 3 guys could have been whistled to create an and-1 but none were.

Pat Adams, Antinio Petty & Tony Henderson did an outstanding job avoiding calling any fouls on georgia from 19:24 to 7:47 in 2H, the time between their 1st and 2nd team fouls in the final period. they should also be commended for calling the 7th and final team foul on uga to put Carolina in the bonus with 0:50 to play.

meanwhile georgia shot 15 2H free throws to USC's 8 and 12 more for the game. in a game that was clearly basketbrawl by both teams, the officiating "missed" more calls than it made - mostly on one end of the court. it's why college basketball is the most unwatchable sport of the big 3.

hate it for the team and coaches, but give Carolina a 8 or 9 seed and put us in Raleigh so we can shite all over the targoats hopes in round 2 and call it a season.
