I agree. If Berrios doesn't come to the biggest recruiting weekend (and I don't care that he was just here 2 weeks ago,) than he isn't serious about us.

Berrios is heading to UK or Miami I think

Looks like we get googer and Davidson has already committed.

If we miss on Berrios do we push hard for Bone or use the scholarship for another position? Like Baldwin at QB?

He's a grayshirt at best. I'd rather us open up another spot on D, and that is something that I think we will do considering Moten just decommitted from UF and he is an immediate take.

True. I figured with Wideman committing to FSU we could take Ford Newell and Lamin although its unlikely all three will commit.

Isn't Moten kinda a long shot?

As I've said before, Wideman's recruitment is nowhere near over. Moten is planning to visit Cola this fall. So in the sense that it will take him a long while to decide, yes. But if we get him on campus for our beatdown of UF this year, I think we can make an impression.

We are receiving a little interest from 2014 WR Ryshene Bronson from Florida as well. He decommitted from UF and has opened up his recruitment. He was quoted recently as saying we would give him a chance to play as a freshman.

I like him, he is a good ball player.

Just moved this over to this page. Black Magic Showcase Visitors

I used 247's info for the composite rankings.

2014 QB Bo Baldwin 3* #30 ProQB (does not have an offer from USC.)
2014 DL Dexter Wideman 4* #11 DT (awesome DT/SDE, academics are not locked up yet.)
2014 DB Wesley Green 4* #17CB COMMIT (recently bumped up the rankings)
2014 OL Donnell Stanley 4* #4OG (should be a Gamecock)
2014 WR Shaq Davidson 4* #10WR COMMIT

2015 OL Mason Veal 4* #23OT, (legacy)
2015 DB Minkah Fitzpatrick 5* #3CB (USC Leads)
2015 LB Johnathan Sutton. 4* #4OLB (clemson lean)
2015 WR Michael Bowman 4* #17WR, Havelock HS, Darrell Scott's teammate
2015 CB Caleb Chalmers 4* #22CB (another SC guy.)
2015 ATH Terry Godwin 5* #2ATH (a bit of a surprise.)
2015 DT Albert Huggins 5* #6 DT (SC Guys)
2015 QB Kevin Johnson 3* #14 Dual Threat
2015 DE Rasool Clemmons 4* #12 WDE. (SC guy)

2016 WR Bryan Edwards (SC guy)
2016 QB Avery McCall

I agree, but I really like Berrios as a player. Think he will bring in a short over the middle Wes Welker type of presence, that will be a nightmare match up for a LB or safety in the slot. But he is a canes fan, and from what I understand, he was sold on us until Miami offered him.

Someone needs to show him that picture of the empty stadium Miami plays in.

Sawyer would be a huge get. Him and Thomas would have me feeling better about DE next year and hopefully we keep the 3 we've got in the 15 class

South Carolina adds the commitment of DT Taylor Stallworth to it's 2014 class. Stallworth (6-2, 290) of Mobile AL is a 85-grade 3* prospect per 24/7Sports, and a 5.6 3* per Rivals. Stallworth chose USC over offers from Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Miss State, Vanderbilt, Florida State, NC State, and Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Southern Miss, and others. He is the 11th prospect of our class.....

Kind of surprised about this commit...we have several other true DT such as Lamin, Ford, and Sawyer that we've been working on, that I'd imagine are all higher on the board than Stallworth. With such a small class, the insider discussions were that we'd take 2 DTs in this class. Now there's one spot left...

Yes, several online sites are tweeting it, as well as:

Official a Gamecock! #Blessed

He's a WR in the mold of another Ace Sanders or slot guy out of First Coast High (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL). He's not rated yet by anyone I've found, but he is a rising junior, so there's time...

Is there any confirmation yet on Jaquan Johnson?

Anyone have posting problems for the last 30 minutes?

As far as the WR commit, First Coast is a D1 Factory, I bet he's a good one.

As far as Johnson, it was his teammate/buddy that broke the news on his twitter. I think that someone is either messing with his buddy's twitter, or he wasn't supposed to break that news and did.

Hell Yes! Finally some good resolution on one of these top prospects we've been high up on the board for!

GoGamecocks.com ?@gogamecocks 8m

JUCO defensive tackle Abu Lamin (6-4, 305) of Fort Scott, Kan., has committed to USC - the 12th pledge for 2014.

Now with 2 DTs in Stallworth and Lamin, Poona looks to be outside looking in, and Sawyer just missed the boat, I guess...

Sawyer's a DE, isn't he? I would think it's down to whichever one commits first between him and Wideman to finish up our DL recruiting for '14.

You're right, he is....and actually, Wideman still has the grades issues and could still end up being a sign and place, so we could get them both if we can work them right....

It sounds like this class is about done for 2014. Now need Stanley and a WR to jump on, and let's get the heck out of here!
