Alabama has hired former Crimson Tide safety Nick Perry as a graduate assistant.
The Prattville native was Alabama's starting free safety as a redshirt senior in 2014, posting 80 tackles and two interceptions in helping the Tide win the SEC championship and advance to the College Football Playoff.
Perry spent time with the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles the last two years after he wasn't selected during the 2015 NFL draft.

Knew him when he played at Prattville. They won state both years he played. Means a lot to him to be apart of the university again.

He's always been a smart guy. Good for Nick.

He was a really good player for us his last two years. Enjoyed watching him play. Glad he is on staff.

I had a few classes with him when I was in college. Very nice and smart guy. Glad to see him get this opportunity.

I really wish a better Alabama sports blog would pop up. I really don't want to ever give al.com any clicks. I feel like their sports section is propping up the garbage they put out on the rest of the site.

His biggest claim to fame is that he rode the elevator up to the OR at the same time as I did when we both had our knees scoped on the same day.
