Will the NCAA ever do anything about the rules violations in Mississippi?

Those cowbells are artificial noisemakers and against the rules.

Sure, they'll do a 2+ year investigation, write a letter, give some penalties, and then rescind those penalties shortly after. That's kinda what they do now.

They have an exemption the rest of the SEC agreed to.

The NCAA did away with the crowd noise rule a few years ago. Cowbells are not against the rules per the NCAA.

I tend to think they will do jack shite because they are the NCAA and they are powerless but they got made a mockery of in one of the highest profile sporting events of the year so they might.
They let Cam Newton get paid because they didn't want to risk bad rating if TCU or some shite school got in the national title game, they will turn a blind eye to Bama and OSU - don't think Ole Miss is that protected so going to be interesting to see if they will actually do anything.
If they don't though, every school out there should just set up pay for play.

Probably the same day when they punish Alabama for recruiting violations

As annoying as those cowbells may be, they're perfectly legal. Besides, Mississippians are desperate to get into Guinness.
On the downside, those noisemakers may have cost State any chance it had of ever hosting Game Day again.
