He is talking about Gus' scheme.
"They understand that I was in a scheme at Auburn that didn’t require me to run very many routes, very diverse or complex routes"

Well, he's right. Gus runs a simple scheme that from a developmental standpoint is reminiscent of the 80's Dye-era option teams. It's not a pro-style offense in any aspect.
That's not to say Auburn players would be incapable of being good pros, but they won't be acclimated to the verbiage, schematics, or various other complexities of the NFL game. We don't care that much because when he has the right tools in place, he runs one of the most dominant offenses in the country and is difficult to stop.

Told ya so, LSU fans. Craig is a great recruiter, though.

And he's talking about his general development as a receiver... which Craig was responsible for.

You can't expect a hick high school coach to develop these guys.

"That was not what I meant," Louis told AL.com. "What I meant to say (was) I wasn't a developed receiver. In a lot of people's eyes I had some issues with dropped passes or that some people think I can't read more routes, for a receiver who can't do those things you're not a complete receiver, you're not developed.
"Auburn has great coaches. I have the utmost respect for coach (Gus) Malzahn, (offensive coordinator Rhett) Lashlee, (former wide receivers coach Dameyune) Craig. They brought me a long way as far as being a football player and I became a great receiver. Then there's also some (things) I needed to work on that I felt like that made me not a complete receiver, not a very developed receiver and I felt like wherever I go, I'm going to get the opportunity to get better and better."
Louis, who converted to wide receiver from being a quarterback in high school, cited improved receiving statistics over the course of his college career as a sign not only of his hard work but the development he got from the coaching staff. He led Auburn with 46 receptions for 716 yards and three touchdowns and added 29 carries for 158 yards and a score last season, topping the total receiving yards he had during the first three years of his career.
"My role when I was at Auburn the first couple of years, I wasn't the primary receiver but my last season at Auburn I became the primary receiver so that required me to do a lot more things that I wasn't doing before and I got better and better but I was still working on it," Louis said. "At Auburn I wasn't a complete receiver, I wasn't a developed receiver. Coach Craig helped me get to the point where I am now. I got drafted in the fourth round, a lot of people didn't expect for me to get drafted in the fourth round but hey, a lot of teams see what other teams don't and that's just what it is."
Louis wished to apologize to anyone who took his initial remarks the wrong way and said he in no way meant to insult his school.

That is what most AU fans were saying about DC for three years. He was much better suited as a QB Coach.
what "most" fans, AU or otherwise, say about the qualifications of a coach is certifiable garbage.
the one thing binding all college fan bases is they love to act like they know shite when they really don't know squat.
