It's very loud... but Texas A&M's crowd was the real twelfth man out there last Saturday they were louder than any TV crowd I can remember.
It sounded like it was when I was a student...when a trip to Kyle Field meant an automatic loss for the visiting team.

I have been to every SEC stadium except Arkansas.
Florida
Tennessee
LSU
Auburn
Texas A&M
Georgia
Alabama
S. Carolina
Ole Miss
UK
Miss. State
Mizzou
Vandy
Would be my ranking of the atmospheres based on in person experiences. Obviously I have seen all of these teams play only Tennessee (+ I have been to Iron Bowls at BDS and JH) so that heavily weighs in to it. UK for example is going to be much more fired up for Tennessee than Miss. State was. LSU is going to be much more fired up for Bama than Tennessee, etc. Plus I have heard Neyland at all of its loudest moments.
Top 4 are all deafening at times. Loved A&M last year but didn't think it was too hostile despite it being a top 10 undefeated matchup.
UGA I have seen 5 or 6 times and it is hit or miss.

I don't reject the notion that Bama is middle of the pack as far as noise. My only defense is that it is primarily because of success. When Bama was down from '97-'07, BDS was one of the loudest stadiums in the country because of a desperate hunger for victory. Even though this present run is better than Coach Bryant's, it was even worse then. BDS was probably the most polite stadium in the country, kind and soft spoken. Saban has appealed to the fans to create a hostile environment and it is better than the Bryant years. Bama fans support the program by travelling well everywhere and supporting the players
