No kidding. Local talk show host critical of LSU this week is out sick today and everyone is saying LSU told the station to censor him.
It's getting crazy and will only get worse with each loss.

quote:I'm pretty sure Aranda is on a 3 year contract. If he's so good, he should have the defense playing a little better. I can give some slack for injuries and youth, but let's not pretend none of the blame is on him. He's could be more vocal on the sidelines. Wouldn't bother me if he told Key to take a seat until he's serious.
Don't know about Canada, but I'd be willing to bet Aranda is gone by January.

One of them has to be source of the info. Only four people in the room and what is said and how it is said is leaked out.

I'm sure they did. The 3 coaches agreed with Alleva that if they didn't get their shite together, they'd be kicked out on their asses collectively at season's end.

quote:As I recall, he has no buyout if he takes an FBS HC gig.
The contract runs through March 31, 2020, with a salary of $1.8 million next season, $1.85 million in 2018 and $1.9 million in 2019. It also includes bonuses.
Aranda's buyout will be about 40 percent of his remaining salary if he accepts a non-head coaching position within 500 miles of Baton Rouge and 15 percent if beyond 500 miles.
While his defense hasn't been playing up to their ability, I don't think anyone would disagree that he's the best DC in the country over the last 5-6 years. He had LSU playing lights out all year during a very tumultuous time in '16.
My guess is his agent is already shopping him around for a potential move, either as a DC to a Power5 team outside of the SEC (buyout would be $3,750,000 X 15% = $560,000), or as an HC at any number of schools whose current HC is on the hotseat (buyout = $0).
If Orgeron is retained, which is almost certain, I garron-damn-tee he'll be out of Red Stick by New Year's.

After leaving the meeting they immediately went to work updating their résumés.

The direction of the program is pretty obvious. The fix a little more challenging..
Alleva trying to make it look like he's doing work, any work. That would be a first.

Alleva's trying to save his arse. He's incompetent, not stupid. He knows the ship is sinking.

The discussions between offensive coordinator Matt Canada, defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, Orgeron and Alleva unfolded in Orgeron’s office, and they centered around “accountability,” a source familiar with the discussions told The Advocate. The four left the meeting in agreement on the direction of the program.
Unless Joe resigned, I don't see how this accomplished much.
