Through 4 weeks, which players have surprised you? Which players have disappointed you?

Surprising:
OLB Corey Thompson - 6th year senior who started as a true sophomore at safety until he got injured. Has pretty much been injured every year since. Transitioned to LB just to get on the field, and he has been one of our lone bright spots. I expected him to give us nothing more than just solid veteran minutes, but he has been great.
CB "Greedy" Williams - Redshirt freshman who got the start against BYU due to suspensions. He has been lights out with the exception of 1 play against Syracuse. He already has 3 INTs. He is a guy who I didn't even expect to play much at all this year.
Disappointing:
ILB Donnie Alexander - Our senior LB taking over as the "leader" of our defense. Through 4 games he has already been suspended for more than a game and a half. When he isn't suspended, he is struggling to be anything but a negative to the defense. He got beat to the edge repeatedly against MSU before deciding he would extend an MSU drive with a personal foul after a 3 and out. Last year he was an undersized speedy LB. He put on a ton of weight, got no stronger, but got a lot slower.
DE Christian LaCouture - Redshirt senior DE, who unlike Donnie actually is a leader of the defense. Its unfortunate that he just isn't very good. He has never been much of a threat to rush the passer, but he used to at least hold his own against the run. After tearing his ACL last year, he just isn't the same. He is an average SEC DLinemen at best.

Most of the guys I had expectations for are playing well. Dodson, Watts, Williams, Kirk, etc.
I guess I few of the unknown guys got some hype in camp like JUCO transfer DE Clemons and true Freshman million offer letter Hines are not making major impacts and if they are they're missing assignments for than making plays.

Surprising - Jeff Holland. Now we always thought he would be good but his play this season compared to last season is exceptional
Disappointing - Kam Pettway - Has been hurt but meh so far.
Surprising - Tray Matthews - He is finally playing like everyone, including UGA, thought he could. Dude is flying around killing people.
Disappointing - Daniel Carlson - Dude missed two fieldgoals. Not cool JK'
Disappointing - A big portion of our fanbase. Bunch of bleeding vaginas

Disappointment: Jamarcus King - he had a good interception against LA Tech but dude consistently gets beat. Half the time he interferes, doesn't look for the ball, and the receiver will still haul it in and make King look dumb.
Surprise: OrTre Smith - has stepped up big time since Deebo went down. He had the late TD grab against Kentucky and was huge against LA Tech

I will forever just think of him as the guy that avoided trying to tackle Fournette. I just can't picture him as flying around killing people.

Yeah. I'm surprised he's still in college. You'd think he'd have grandkids by now.

Surprising: Levi Wallace is a former walk on and he's playing as well as any DB on the team.
Andy Papponastos has been serviceable as a kicker. He's a transfer from ole miss and 99% of the fan base didn't expect anything out of him.
Disappointing: Ross Piersbacher. He's a third year starter and he just hasn't gotten much better since his freshman year. But the OL looked great last game.
Dashawn Hand. He hasn't put up the sack and TFL numbers fans are accustomed to. So far, he's not making half the plays that Jon Allen made.

Leads Alabama and is #2 in the SEC in passes defended. Dude is straight up wrecking WRs.

Kellen Mond as the answer to both.

Surprising:
This one is pretty obvious - Jake Fromm. Before the season started, I wasn't expecting him to see the field much outside of mop-up duty. Even though he hasn't been asked to carry the offense, he's already far exceeded my expectations.
J.R. Reed was a transfer from Tulsa who wasn't highly recruited of HS, but he's made plays in every game at the star and safety positions.
Disappointing:
With the exception of Isaac Nauta's TD catch last week, the tight ends have been nearly invisible all season.
