All of the play call whining etc.

Our QB had a bad game. He's not throwing guys open and misses people wide open. Some plays don't work, but against a great defense, you have to execute the plays that should work. Too early to panic but Stidham has to get better for a good season. Pettway also missed several cutback opportunities and was not on his game. Stidham played a little scared.

Both OTs had bad nights as well as the play calling. A lot of mofos had bad nights.

Okay, how much did Gus pay you post this? Gus (or, if you believe the BS coming out of the program, Chip) was totally pathetic on the playcalls. Stidham could have done better than he did, and the OL could have protected better. In the end, they were dealt a shitty hand by their coaches, and they played the hand really poorly, too. The REAL problem is that the issues we saw Saturday were the same ones we've gotten used to seeing, so it's hard to write it off as a one-off.

Also, did this REALLY need its own thread when we've got so many already for this topic?

He definitely had a bad night, but until he gives me a reason to think he will have a good night against an actual defense, then I think there is plenty of reason to panic.

11 sacks. 79 total passing yards. Dude had no idea how to get rid of the ball once he got out of the pocket. Folded up like a tent under pressure.

Some of that can be blamed on play calling as well, but it's not like we can just ignore that. The same people are going to be calling plays the rest of the year and the results could be very disappointing.

Hopefully he tunes up against Mercer and learns to get rid of the ball quicker if no one is open and he's under pressure, but I'm not optimistic.

Mercer isn't going to get any pressure on him. He won't be experiencing the pressure he did before so he won't learn anything. I hope he spent a lot of time in the film room.

But why is this happening? Had all spring, had all August, had a warm up game against Ga Southern. Are we just having bad luck getting QB's? I don't think so.

We sucked, the Oline sucked, the WR sucked, the RB sucked and the QB also sucked. When everyone sucks, that usually means coaching sucks big time. This was 100% on coaching...

You can't expect video game stats against their defense. We had plays that, if executed, would have won the game. Clemson was very similar but they executed the key plays.

I believe Stidham is either rusty or will get replaced by Sean White. I also think we should be as concerned with RB. Our two biggest stud players missed plays that would have gotten the offense going.

Eli Stove also missed an easy pass that would have produced points.

I get the frustration with the whole o line and play calling. However, I would prefer to call plays with a QB and RB with their A games against a team like that. Neither showed leadership. Who is the leader on offense? Nobody has shown out in the first two games.

Gus is paid millions to be the leader of the offense. If it is a lack of leadership it falls on Gus.

Clemson was getting gassed in the 1st and that dipshit Gus decided not to run pace.

We could have won that game.

Not panicking, and Stidham isnt as bad as we saw against Clemson.... He did have a shite night, but it was 95% on the coaching staff.

I imagine we'll be similar on offense as last season. We'll struggle against the good defenses that can match up talentwise, and that are well coached. We already know who those teams are.

Against the teams with shitty defenses that can't match our talent, we will most likely abuse like last season. Dont be surprised to see us blow out the Arky, Mizzou, and Mississippi schools of the SEC. Just dont let it give you false hope that things are fixed like last season.

The defense is good enough to keep us in the game against anybody. With any luck the injury bug won't hit us as hard and at such crucial spots like it did last season when ir really mattered in the end. But if it does, we at least have more depth and it wont leave us completely crippled.... With our defense I think we can still muster enough offense to beat LSU again and finally finish the job against UGA.
We will still struggle offensively, but things won't be as bad at any point as it was this weekend. Not only because things will gel and get better, but there just isn't another team that matches up as perfectly as Clemson does against our offensive weaknesses, and nobody outside the NFL has that much talent at all 4 spots on the DL.

You can only do so much when the defense/offense (opposing) knows what is coming. He had a crappy night, no question, but it was absolutely exacerbated by the crappy play designs and play calls. We have to work in some short routes, checkdowns and have route concepts that stress multiple levels of the defense/field. That is absolutely key.

We knew that last year. They had the entire spring, summer, and fall camps to work on it. Nothing was fixed, and it won't be.

AU will rattle off some win against inferior opponents, our defense will allow us to do that. When we play anyone with a pulse, Auburn will lose. It's been that way since 2014.
