I have to go with Arkansas. They are the flagship of their own state. They are the more premiere program and recognized at a more prestige level than Texas A&M has ever been or ever will be.

I see Arkansas vs A&M as the poor man's version of Oklahoma vs Texas. Arkansas is the better program but A&M has far greater potential. Being the #2 school in a talent rich state like Texas far outweighs anything Arkansas can bring to the table.

I know this is a trollol and you don't actually believe any of this. But I will indulge, nonetheless.

1. In states that are large enough and have paved highways, we have two flagship schools(I know this is hard to believe coming from LA, but it's true); one for agriculture and engineering, the other for business. See: AL, MS, GA, FL.

2. Let's be real, Arkansas is the flagship of... well, Arkansas. Lol

3. Recognized at a more prestigious level of what? And by whom? We have more national and conference titles.

Hope that helps clear things up.

CBB is a better coach all around. Im worried about Arkansas this year. aTm will start off hot and probably beat one quality team then slow fall off.

This. They forget the old SWC where it was pretty much Texas then Arkansas then a rotation of the also rans. I never thought of A&M as elite.

A&M had 17 SWC Titles to 14 for Arkansas. It never ceases to amaze me though how many Arkie fans here act as though the '60s was the only time in the SWC that mattered even though they likely weren't born yet.

A&M is in a more fertile recruiting ground and is loose with the pursestrings.

If the same HOF coach were to walk in to A&M and Arkansas, he would have more success at aTm.

So if you're asking about the highest potential, its no contest. Which makes things worse from an A&M perspective because Arkansas is getting stronger and A&M is flailing around.

You gotta give it to em, tho. I'm almost convinced they actually believe their own delusional posts.

The only thing Texans are known for more than arrogance is a lack of self awareness.

Because you kinda get tunnel vision when you live in the second best state in America.

I'm curious, what state is #1?

I don't know, I just hate to assume that there isn't one better. I haven't seen it, but I haven't seen them all.

But I am not a native Texan. A native Texan would have declared it the best state.

Humility from an Aggy. I'm truly shocked.

You seem like a level headed, down to earth Aggie. We could be solid rival efranz.

Agree with OP.

You left out that A&M has never had any kind of consistent national relevance without being caught cheating. It's an institutional problem that doesn't appear to have been resolved.
