The team has so many unknowns i.e. 1st year QB, 1st year OC with close to a complete staff turn over, inexperienced DEs. It is really hard for anyone to make an accurate prediction. On the dline and at running back we are literally 1 injury away from being in trouble. All I know is that the talent level is there to win the east and have a great season. Is the coaching? Are the players being developed and will they be put in position to succeed? Will the entire team be made of glass again?

My guess

Strength: offense, Kelly will be great and the passing game might improve. Special teams are good under Jones.
Weakness: maybe the entire defense tbh. They do have physical talent.

Isn't that a big WTF after five years recruiting?

If we are one injury away -- and I am sure you are right -- then we certainly won't win the East or anything else.

It can happen. Lost three DEs and Kamara and Hurd both left early. You can plan for it but having multiple RBs leave early is going to hurt. I could very well be wrong there because I'm kind of already counting CFA out.

DE will need a freshman to play. Butler looks the part.

Deandre Johnson from Miami has been looking good per reports

8-4 imo.

I will say JG has been leaps and bounds better this fall than he was in the spring. If the o-line struggles in the opener I think the leash for QD has been shortened based on JG's play.

I think QD has incredible arm talent, not sure I trust they are going to put him in the right situations though. In the right offense he is a top 10 QB.

Will post more thoughts later when I'm at a computer.

Well that is certainly reassuring. I was pro-JG for a very long time partly due to his lofty recruiting ranking but also because I remember how bad this offense looked like with pocket passing types.

Basically, I have no faith in Botch molding his offense to fit his quarterback's strengths.

It is definitely purgatory when your Bammer fan co-worker tells you we haven't beaten Bammer since the I-Phone was invented.

I reminded him that Bammer has 3 seasons worth of forfeited and vacated games.

Did you let that Bammer know that Tennessee hasn't posted 8 losses in a season since football was invented?

Yes, and a season with zero wins.

Larry Scott on the other hand I think could get it together.

Butch needs to stay home on Saturdays and let the assistants run the game.
