Mizzou fans, how are y'all looking this year?

I'm guessing yalls offense will be good idk about the trenches but y'all are well of at the skilled positions. What I'm really curious about is yalls defense. How many returners do y'all have and what's the skill/size of yalls defense like?

We got a new defensive line coach. We're returning to our old attacking philosophy on the line. We got a solid DL transfer from Texas and signed Akiel Byers as well. Pass rushers are a year older. Should see improvement.
Linebackers are overall the same ones we had at the end of the year (i.e., better than the ones at the beginning) Garret and Beisel are good and have a nose for the football. Not great in pass coverage though
Our secondary should be pretty bad. Hopefully our pass rush can help in that area
The defense should be bad to below average (if we are lucky it will be average) which is a big improvement from last year. As long as we can force more turnovers we should be able to cover u for some poor secondary play
One advantage is that we won't see many good passing games. The only good QBs on our schedule is Eason and Allen. Stidham is unproven
My 2 cents

Sorry bro... Jake Bentley is better than either Eason or Allen.

Bentley with deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards will be deadly. Hopefully Eason greatly improves well, if so he could be great.

Don't forget Hurst and Crosby, plus good young RBs and a great transfer from UNC. Bentley is surrounded by weapons, the only question mark really is the OL. (which is obviously the most important part)

I feel ya about the o-line. Yalls defense needs improvement too though but yalls offense will be great.

I think the key for Mizzou's defense will be if Terry Beckner is healthy and can stay healthy. He's a former 5 star DL coming off a couple knee injuries, but he's one bad man when healthy. He throws guys around like rag dolls and very quick and athletic.

Good: Oline, WR, and RB
Average: QB, DE, DT, and LB
Bad: secondary

Excellent: WR and RB
Good: OL, QB and DT
Average: DE (thin, might surprise) and LB
Fair: DB
Special teams: a mystery except for an excellent punter.
6 or 7 wins. If the planets align just right...

OL and running game will be strong. We might have the best RB in the league for once. Passing game could be anywhere from above average to best in the SEC.
Defense is an enigma as there is a scheme switch again. We might lose a key DL player due to shrooms. There is so much change on this side it is hard to say how they will be other than they will be much better than last year.
I think 7 to 8 wins is likely.

Not very many holes on the offense. Lock has all the weapons from an improved unit from last year, including the entire OL, WR, TE, and star studded RB. Should be a fun a year 2 in Heupel's system.
Alot of question marks on the Defense. Obviously losing Harris to the draft is big on the DLine, but we still have a ton of talent, and the scheme is going back to getting after the QB. Marcel Frazier will be a household name in the SEC by season's end, and plenty of depth at all positions. Improved DL play will help the linebackers, which brings back players that started coming around towards season end, and transfer from K-State Kaleb Prewitt looks to be the Nickle Back/OLB that should be only new starter. In the secondary, CB are young but athletic. Both So. need to step up. Rest of secondary has experience, but need to be consistent against the pass, especially since we face some good QB's this year. Everything starts up front, and atleast we are improved in that area.
Expectations are bowl game, but this team could surprise like we did in 2013.

I'm picking Mizzou to finish in the bottom 3 of the East atm.
Florida is my favorite (due to schedule)
South Carolina is my dark horse
Georgia looks to be the most talented
Tennessee looks overhyped, but should have enough talent to finish ahead of Mizzou.
However, I could be wrong. If their pass rush masks their weak secondary and their offense can boat race, they could surprise me.
The SEC West looks like a roll of the dice outside of Moo State.
